Yamaha PH welcomes back ‘Pinoy pride’

Yamaha Motor Philippines (YMPH) has welcomed back to the Philippines two Filipinos that have become the recent source of pride for the country.

During the “Making History Never Ends — The Filipino Pride Homecoming” virtual event, the local motorcycle distributor celebrated the homecoming of McKinley Kyle Paz and Olympic silver medalist Carlo Paalam.

Wearing the Filipino flag for the VR46 Master Camp Racing Team, Paz’ name will be written in the history books as the first Filipino who joined the 2021 FIM CEV-Repsol European Championship Moto2 Category through the support provided by YMPH.

The young rider came back after the series of races and training serssions for a quick breather. He will be competing again in the last round, which is scheduled on November at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain.

To celebrate his birthday last July, YMPH gifted Paz a brand-new Sniper 155.

Meanwhile, Paalam — who is part of the Philippine contingent that recently brought honor at the Tokyo Olympics — was also welcomed by the Japanese motorcycle marque. After coming back during its fight, the Filipino pugilist received numerous gifts that included a Yamaha YZF-R6.

Yamaha’s local arm in the country assured that it will continue its support to the young racer (who was hailed as the 2019 Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) UB150 champion) on his future endeavors.

On the other hand, Paalam was given the proper training for his big bike as YMPH noted that it is a leap from riding the Sniper155 to the Big Bike category.

“To unlock the full potential of the motorcycle, he received exclusive training from Coach Joey Storm at the Clark Speedway. He was also given a special helmet that signifies his official entry into the Motorsports world,” the company explained.

“These two athletes who have achieved so much this year will undoubtedly showcase more of their talent for years to come. And with every competition it will only bring more pride for each Filipino,” YMPH concluded in its statement.
