Bond’s choice of vehicles is as impeccable as his style. For on-road driving, 007 rides in grand tourers like the Aston Martin DB5, and when it’s time to get down and dirty, the British spy hops on off-road SUVs like the Land Rover Defender.
That said, the four-wheel-drive specialist was once again called forth for the 25th installment in the James Bond series.
Fans of the franchise and of the automotive marque who would like to drive like Bond himself now get the chance to own a Land Rover just like the one in the upcoming movie, No Time to Die.
According to the automaker, the Land Rover Defender V8 Bond Edition was created by the Land Rover SV Bespoke team to celebrate the Defender’s role in No Time to Die. The nameplate previously appeared in the previous Bond films including Skyfall and Spectre, both movies starring Daniel Craig.
Powering the Land Rover Defender V8 Bond Edition is a 517hp 5.0-liter gasoline engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. This Defender V8 speeds from zero to 60mph in just 4.9 seconds with a top speed of 149mph.
The Land Rover Defender V8 Bond Edition will feature an Extended Black Pack with 22-inch Gloss Black alloy wheels, signature Xenon Blue front brake calipers, and a “Defender 007” rear badge.
In addition, its interior will come with illuminated “Defender 007” treadplates, unique “007” puddle lamp graphics, and a specially developed start-up animation for the intuitive Pivi Pro infotainment system touchscreen that honors Land Rover’s long partnership with the James Bond franchise.
For the uninitiated, Land Rover first appeared in The Living Daylights in 1987 which starred Timothy Dalton.
“The Land Rover Defender V8 Bond Edition is an exclusive take on the most powerful production Defender ever made, inspired by vehicles on-screen in No Time to Die. It represents a meeting of two great British brands and is a unique celebration of Land Rover’s 38-year association with James Bond,” said Land Rover Brand Director Finbar McFall.
Only 300 Land Rover Defender V8 Bond Edition will be made said the four-wheel-drive specialist. Each Land Rover Defender V8 Bond Edition will feature laser etching detailing that it is “one of 300” and the SV Bespoke logo.
Pricing for the Land Rover Defender V8 Bond Editions in the UK starts at £105,395.
