Audi A7 Sportback

One thing you would notice first in the 2020 A7 Sportback is its big screens dominating pretty much the dashboard that controls nearly every function in its cockpit-like interior. You will see a screen over the conventional gauges and another two at the center stack and console. It can be quite complex and intimidating to navigate with its pair of screens at first but the controls of the numerous features are still laid out pretty well.

It has sleek wood inserts with aluminum garnishes that are visible on the dash and door panels giving the cabin a very sporty look. It also has upholstered high-quality leather and a matte interior. As for the technical features,  the optional Audi smartphone interface, bringing the customised environments of Apple CarPlay and Android car on board and onto the MMI monitor, are new to the A7 Sportback. Navigation, telephone, music, and selected third-party apps can be conveniently accessed via the MMI controller.

Though it has the sitting capacity of five, it might be advisable to limit it to four to acquire optimum comfortability in the rear passenger space. It also has an ambient lighting that radiates the feeling of warmth and somehow helps set the mood.

With its measurements of 4969 mm long, 1911mm wide, 1420 mm tall, and as the second-largest four-door offering from Audi, this vehicle has a Goliath-worth of features regardless of its size. The front fascia has a typical black French beard air-dam grill overlapping the body-colored bumper and chrome plates with the iconic four ring logo in between. Cooling won’t also be a problem with its larger air ducts in the front bumper that helps with the airflow inside the vehicle.

It has a sloping roofline in the rear that resembles a coupe-like design and a classic spoiler edge with wide LED tail lights that gives this vehicle a very compelling look. It somehow resembles the coupe-like Mercedes CLS but with a more useful and bigger trunk storage space. It is also slightly longer than the previous Audi A7 in the series.

The suspensions are handled by Multi-link for both front and rear while the steering is set-up with rack and pinion gear type.

As for the ride, the car sports a luxurious convenience while on the road. There’s really not much to say about the handling of this car but overall, through its state-of-the-art drivetrain set-up, you can expect comfortable and smooth drives.

Powering the A7 Sportback is a 2995 cc 3.0L, 6-cylinder 4-valve DOHC TFSI engine that fires up to 308 horsepower at 5250 rpm and a maximum torque of 440 Nm at 2900 revs per minute. It is mated with 7-speed dual clutch transmission and power is delivered to all four 19-inch alloy wheels. A7 Sportback is equipped with two advanced components that help in ensuring each ride is a bliss.

The quattro permanent drive system guarantees more driving stability especially on slippery roads or when it’s raining. If the wheels of one axle lose grip and threaten to spin, the central differential redirects the drive torque to the other axle, automatically and continuously. This mechanism results in better acceleration, greater lateral stability, improved traction, and  enhanced safety. On the other hand, the tiptronic automatic transmission enables spontaneous gear changes at any time. It combines automatic shift comfort with outstanding handling characteristics. Through this, all gear shifts are executed with minimum interruption in the power flow.

On top of this amazing features is the combined fuel efficiency of the car which is 8.2 liter per 100 kilometer while accelerating from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.2 seconds before reaching the top speed of 250 kmph. Moreover, the car complies with the EURO 6 emission standard.

This car is equipped with disc type for the braking system and is mated with Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution and Brake Assist. As for the safety features, the A7 Sportback has a plethora to offer, among the standards were the driver, passenger, and side airbags, child safety locks, rear seat belts, seat belt warning, and vehicle stability control system.

Other safety features present in this car are: Day & Night Rear View Mirror, Height Adjustable Front Seat Belts, Rear Camera, Parking Sensors, Crash Sensor, Front Impact Beams, Side Impact Beams, Door Ajar Warning, Engine Check Warning, Tyre Pressure Monitor and Traction Control. As an additional security feature, the vehicle is equipped with a security system where the engine will be prevented from starting if the original key is not used. It also has Central Locking, Power Door Locks, Anti Theft Device, Anti-Theft Alarm, and Engine Immobilizer.
