Not like a typical SUV
The BMW X1 is smart car with an SUV-like silhouette. But it’s more on the plain side and tough and imposing. A large grille, somewhat freshens up the look. The cabin of the X1 is typical BMW. Its design conforms to the current BMW design theme. Some of the plastics may feel scratchy, given that the X1 is sold as premium, compact SUV. The driving position is very practical and offers a commanding view of the road. The rear seats are spacious and comfortable and that’s expected from BMW. The 2.0-litre petrol engine is very efficient and a pleasure to drive.
