The highlight of the Mustang’s interior is its fully digital instrument cluster. The 12-inch all-digital instrument cluster can be personalized depending on how you want your gauge layout— choose from Normal, Sport, and Track— that you can match with different hues to set the mood for your drive. The fondness for circles is evident on round AC vents and the bulky knobs at the center console, which could have been more streamlined so it won’t look like a cluttered mess of knobs and switches. But despite that, the leather-wrapped, multi-function steering wheel and 8-inch infotainment display with its built-in navigation system and Sync3 for controlling your smartphone, makes up for the dated design by adding just the right amount of modern and utility. 

The head-turning design and silhouette of this luxury car are unmistakably Mustang. It stays true to its heritage of robust front bumper with hood vents but with a modern flair as can be seen on its rounded edges. The sharp-looking combination LED headlights are accentuated by the familiar signature three LED bars. Under the robust front grille is an air dam with the same black mesh pattern flanked with a strip of LED fog lights. At the rear, the three led bar design continuous on the taillights. The dual exhaust with rolled tips –which allows you to control the purring volume of the Mustang, completes the athletic look. The Mustang comes in both hard and soft top options.

Taking this pony car for a ride is just pure bliss. The thrill of sliding to the driver seat, gripping the steering wheel, and hearing the engine roar sets the tone for the driving pleasure that only a luxury sports car can bring. The suspension system made up of independent double-ball joint MacPherson strut with a stabilizer bar at the front and independent integral link with a stabilizer bar at the rear guarantees superb road handling while ensuring ride quality remains at a sweet level. The patented MagneRide Damping system further adds to the responsiveness of the Mustang for optimum handling performance. The Selectable drive modes (Normal, Snow/Wet, Sport, Track, or Drag Strip mode), which can be manipulated using toggle switches fund at the lower center of the dashboard, give the driver added control over the car’s dynamics.

The Ford Mustang is powered by two types of engine— the 2.3 L EcoBoost and the 5.0 GT. The 2.3 L EcoBoost engine can deliver 310 hp of output at 5,500 rpm and 475 Nm of torque at 3,000 rpm. This engine is partnered with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 10-speed select shift automatic. On the other hand, the 5.0 L GT TI-VCT V8 features a dual injection system: high-pressure direct injection and low-pressure port fuel injection for improved power. This allows the engine to deliver a maximum output of 460 hp and 569 Nm of peak torque. It also powers the 5.0 GT to go from zero to 60 mph in under four seconds. The GT engine is also available on a 6-speed manual or a 10-speed select shift automatic transmission.

When it comes to safety and driver-assist features, this pony ride is packed full of it. This Mustang comes complete with dual-stage front and knee and front-seat side airbags while the fastback option has an added side curtain airbags; AdvanceTrac with Electronic Stability Control; Individual Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS); perimeter alarm and passive anti-theft system; and SOS post-crash alert system. For driver-assist technologies, the Ford Mustang comes standard with pre-collision assist with pedestrian detection; blind spot information system with cross-traffic alert; adaptive cruise control; lane-keeping system; active braking; automatic on/off headlamps with wiper activation; rearview camera, and reverse sensing system. The only complaint that we can think of is that the Mustang lacks speed sensing door locks. This is important for added safety, especially when traveling with small children or when you really want to flex your Mustang’s muscles and make your car purr on the expressway.

It’s quite difficult to find fault on a showpiece like the Ford Mustang. Sure it’s a gas guzzler, but you don’t buy a muscle car for its fuel efficiency. Rather, the Ford Mustang is a status symbol of love for cars, racing, and passion for all things luxurious. The Ford Mustang is a head-turner on the road, no question.
