Hyundai H-100 Overview
Coming in hot in the lightweight trucks division is the Hyundai H-100. It sets the new standard for light trucks with greater flexibility and versatility to help meet your daily business needs. Just like Suzuki Carry, Mitsubishi L300, and Isuzu Traviz, Hyundai H-100 is a commercial lightweight truck that is capable of hauling farm goods, pieces of furniture, and even people.
This lightweight truck is considered one of the most affordable and spacious trucks in the market that comes with a single cab and seating capacity of 3 as well as a cargo loading capacity of 1000 kg. You would probably recognize its body structure for it is being used as a delivery van of a very popular courier here in the Philippines.
It is available in two trims, the one with the air conditioning system and the one that has none. The price ranges from P 945,000 to P 985,000 while the color options remain the same which is white. But, if it will be availed with a shuttle body, the price will be around P 1.2 Million.

Hyundai H-100 Interior
The interior of the cabin doesn’t really improve the impression as well since it’s also basic. There is nothing much about the interior that would really wow you except for the all-around ventilation for the trim with AC on it and the adjustable driver seat. The airconditioning system is centrally mounted that provides all-round ventilation, with easy and efficient dial controls. This can definitely keep the driver and passenger fresh and alert.
It also comes with a seat back console, bottle storage, door map pocket, glove box, room lamps, and sunglass holder.
If you’re going to take a look at the two-spoke steering wheel and the instrument console, you would find it quite outdated and can be improved. Meanwhile, the central console has silver finish around the air conditioning vents and a 1-DIN music system is also embedded.
With the same price range, H-100 is far more expensive than Suzuki Carry but the latter offers more promising comfort and convenience features. It is quite disappointing that this has a price of almost a million but the interior doesn’t seem to live up with its tag.

Hyundai H-100 Exterior
H-100 has a simple approach in terms of the design language and its really not a boastful kind of truck that it is very eye-catching on the road. The automaker seemed to have taken their sweet time and made this truck very humble-looking. After all, it is all about practicality.
The lighting system is lead by trapezoidal headlights with rounded edges and lamps within them. Although there is no prominent grille, there is a distinctive line that looks like connecting the two halogen headlights.
It is safe to say that the overall look of the front fascia looks oddly like the face of a smiling robot because of the lines and the shape of the headlights. But, if you’re going to look at the overall design of the car, you would probably think that it needs some glow up too.

Hyundai H-100 Ride & Handling
The suspension is being handled by double wishbone and torsion bar spring at the front and semi-elliptical laminated leaf spring at the rear. Meanwhile, the shock absorber hydraulic acting telescopic forks on the front with rear axle and the torsion bar stabilizer on the front of the axle ensure the flexibility and the spontaneity of the car, especially during transports and deliveries.
As for the ride quality, it is quite decent but the boxy layout of the cabin makes it a little bit of a risk for body roll especially during high speeds. Meanwhile, the 15-inch wheels are doing a pretty good job in terms of traction and road control.

Hyundai H-100 Engine & Fuel Consumption
This workhorse is powered by a 2497cc 2.5-liter Diesel Engine, Inline 4 Cylinder 4 Valve DOHC with Common-Rail Direct Injection (CRD-i) technology that is compliant with EURO 4 emission standards. It can produce a maximum power output of 130 at 3800 revs per minute a maximum of 255 Nm at 1500 - 3500 rpm. Sure it’s a lot powerful than Carry but H-100 seems to be really lacking on other features.
The mill is mated with a 6-speed manual transmission and 65 liters as fueling capacity. The all-new six-speed transmission is noticeably quieter. Most importantly, the first and sixth overdrive gears will help conserve fuel and reduce your driving expenses. Although the mill is not quite powerful, it can still provide driving performance for long hauls or even just typical city drives.

Hyundai H-100 Braking & Safety
The automakers equipped H-100 with ventilated discs for the front and drum brake for the rear. Its type of braking system is Hydraulic Emergency Brake with LSPV (Load Sensing Proportioning Valve) while the parking brake is a floor-mounted hand type.
Meanwhile, other safety features include Driver Airbag, Passenger Airbag, Side Airbag-Front, Child Safety Locks, Anti-Lock Braking System with Brake Assist and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Vehicle Stability Control System, Rear Seat Belts, Seat Belt Warning, Height Adjustable Front Seat Belts, Crash Sensor, Front Impact Beams, Side Impact Beams, Door Ajar Warning, and Engine Check Warning.

Hyundai H-100 Verdict
Surprisingly, Hyundai H-100 car is much more expensive than the Suzuki Carry but it doesn’t really offer so much. The lack of a modern entertainment system and outdated design is probably its weakness, most specifically, the audio system can be fixed while the AC option can be standardized. This workhorse can be improved more in terms of technology and design. But for a businessman, this car can be ideal for carrying people, manufactured goods, or even just for deliveries. This car can definitely go against its competitors in its class like the Suzuki Carry, Mitsubishi L300, and Isuzu Traviz. Although it might not have that much advantage against the other three, Hyundai H-100 can still be valuable for daily commercial use.
