Hyundai Ioniq 6 Overview
If you’re looking for a drop-dead gorgeous all-electric vehicle that combines the best of elegant aesthetics with technological innovation and peak performance, look no further than the Hyundai Ioniq 6. Released in August of last year, but with early reservations dating back to June of that same year, this evidently classier variant of Hyundai’s previous all-electric model, the Ioniq 5, builds upon the prior model’s strengths and adds a touch of aesthetic improvement.
Although marketed as a sportier upgrade to the Ioniq 5, the Ioniq 6 looks more like a luxury four-door sedan, and the price tag (3.798 million PHP) reflects this shift in overall quality. Now available in all auto retailers across the country, the Ioniq 6 comes in a single variant for the local market – the GLS 2WD Long Range.

Hyundai Ioniq 6 Interior
With its long wheelbase and flat floor, the Ioniq 6 manages to provide a surprisingly roomy interior. Minimalist aesthetics open up the space even more and make it feel airy and roomy, while the bridge-like middle console adds extra storage, generating even more cabin space.
The heated seats made with recycled PET fabric and eco-processed leather, are specifically designed with comfort and sustainability in mind. The Ioniq 6's sloping roofline may make back seating a little cramped for taller or larger passengers, however.
Two 12.3-inch screens (one for the infotainment system and the other for the digital instrument cluster) take center stage in the Ioniq 6's dashboard. The seamless integration of these screens results in an aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly interface. Connectivity options like wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, come with the package, alongside other creature comforts like a Bose premium sound system, wireless charging pads, and Dual Color Ambient Lighting.

Hyundai Ioniq 6 Exterior
The Hyundai Ioniq 6 combines futuristic design elements, sustainable materials, and streamlined aerodynamics to create a one-of-a-kind road presence, with an undeniably elegant appeal. The sleek, aerodynamic design of the Ioniq 6, with its low, sloping roofline that flows smoothly into the rear end, takes a stylistic cue from classic streamliner cars.
The Ioniq 6 has a unique, pixel-like LED light arrangement (trademarked the 'Parametric Pixel lighting') up front that extends to the whole width of the vehicle and encircles the headlamps, which provides a very futuristic look in spite of its classic style cues. The closed-off grille proudly showcases its EV nature, and its aerodynamic profile is improved by the bumper's elegantly sculpted yet smooth lines.
Its long wheelbase, short overhangs, and flush door handles define the Ioniq 6's side profile, adding even more aerodynamic efficiency while doubling down on the sleek, futuristic appeal. Modern side cameras give a digital display that is visible within the cabin, eliminating the need for conventional mirrors. Sharp character lines and softly sloping rear-end roofline all contribute to a dynamic and refined appearance.

Hyundai Ioniq 6 Ride & Handling
The Ioniq 6's suspension is designed to effectively absorb bumps and road irregularities, providing a comfortable ride on most roads. Its wider wheels may cause some slight vibrations, but it does help in providing additional shock absorption. Its low center of gravity helps to increase stability and balance, especially during sharp turns and cornering. The steering is tight and highly responsive, though some drivers may find that it is too light on feedback. The Ioniq is agile and maneuverable enough for cruising but also holds its own at highway speeds.
-
Hyundai Ioniq 6 Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Ioniq 6 is a fully electric vehicle that does away with the conventional combustion engine and transmission and is instead operated by a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) capable of providing 225 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. In this rear-wheel drive configuration (RWD), the vehicle can accelerate to 60 miles per hour from 0 to 75mph, with a maximum speed of 115 mph.
The Ioniq 6 is only available in the long-range within the Philippine market. This option provides a power capacity of 77.4 kWh and comes with the advantage of an increased driving range, making it perfect for long-distance drivers or people who don't have easy access to charging stations.
-
Hyundai Ioniq 6 Braking & Safety
The Ioniq 6 comes with the standard safety features found in all vehicles, along with its suite of safety features, including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2 (FCA 2), Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA), Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA), smart cruise control systems, and lane keeping assistance.
