JAC J4 Overview
The J4 is a great entry-level subcompact sedan with all the base features. The J4 is JAC’s flagship subcompact sedan in the local market. The model’s design takes inspiration from the classic styling of Euro-bred vehicles while integrating strong lines that give it a tougher look. The J4 was first launched back in 2012, so its style might no longer be to everyone’s taste. Plus, JAC hasn’t made any major redesign decisions either over the past couple of versions. Surprisingly, however, it does manage to have a timeless, premium quality about it that still makes it an attractive economic car to own. Anyone familiar with the JAC brand might be familiar with the J4’s Chinese name: the Heyue A30. The Heyue brand features JAC’s city vehicles while its sibling, Refine, is targeted towards its corporate customers. But because of the J4’s European design language, it has that similar look and feel of early premium Mercedes-Benz models. In fact, it actually shares a similar platform with the Refine S3 SUV which was formerly the Heyue S30.

JAC J4 Interior
The most notable part of the J4 is its cabin which is decked out with a variety of features. The inside of the J4 sports a T-type dashboard which is designed with a dual-color assortment that can also be seen around the entire cabin. However, JAC is also offering a darker color scheme for those who prefer that kind of ambiance and style. The seats are wrapped in leather, as well as the manual parking brake. It is also equipped with a standard rear window defroster and a standard trip computer. Other features include power windows, a remote key, a manual anti-glare interior rearview mirror, a manual air conditioner, and a standard radio/USB system. Over the dashboard is also a three-dimensional headlamp. Overall, the J4 manages to offer ample space and legroom thanks to its wide interior and height. Not to mention, an oversized trunk that can accommodate lots of cargo.

JAC J4 Exterior
The J4’s design is very straight to the point. The four-door sedan sports a solid waistline with smooth curves and bold front fenders. The front fascia has a ladder-shaped bumper which is flanked by two sharp but wide headlights. On the rear end, the trunk is designed to meet with the roofline, making the vehicle appear more solid. This is flanked by two oval-shaped tail lights. The J4 has a length of 4,435 mm, a width of 1,725 mm, a height of 1,505 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,560 mm. Ground clearance is around 125 mm while it has a turning radius of approximately 10.8 m. The J4 is available in the following colors: silver, gray, red, white, and black.

JAC J4 Verdict
The J4 is a great entry vehicle for those looking to own a simple subcompact sedan at an affordable price range. It has all the base features that make the ride experience convenient and comfortable while also having a strong engine for everyday driving or long trips. Overall, it’s a very user-friendly vehicle. While it’s not as strong as the Japanese subcompact sedans in the local market, it still has everything a driver needs in a reliable vehicle. The price for the JAC J4 starts at P670,000.
