Kia Forte

The Kia Forte looks as contemporary and sporty as it can get from the inside, with the car getting the latest trend of interior cabin designing and features onboard.

The driver’s seat of the Kia Forte welcomes you with a  flat bottomed multi-functional steering wheel and a sober-looking instrument console. The free mounted trapezoidal touchscreen infotainment system in the middle of the dashboard is the main highlight of the cabin, which gets sleek looking trapezoidal AC vents just below it and minimalist looking controls for the automatic climate control below the AC vents.

The whole dashboard, finished in an all-black theme, is divided into two layers, with a smooth silver finished line separating them. The all-black cabin gets aluminum pedals to contrast red stitching on the steering wheel, seats, door pads and central console on the top end GT trim, to make it look as sporty as it can get. The cabin is decently spacious too, however, the headroom at the rear gets eaten up by the sloping roofline a bit.

With the last update which it received, the Kia Forte has turned out to be one gorgeous looking car, which offers a seamless blend of a conventional sedan and a sports coupe. The curvy design surely makes it one of the best looking cars in this category of sedans.

The front fascia of the Kia Forte looks aggressive with its horizontally stretched Tiger-nose front grille, which gets chrome finish at its upper and lower edges. The sweptback trapezoidal headlamps do sport kinks at their upper edges and have very bright LED projectors assembled in them. The front bumper inserts too look very sporty, with unconventional housing for the fog lamps in the outer corners of the central air dam on the bumper.

The side profile of the Kia Forte makes it look like a smoothly designed coupe, thanks to the sloping roofline which tapers down towards the rear in a curved fashion. There is a smooth line that flows from the edge of the headlamp to that of the tail lamp, which adds some character to the side look of the car. The window frame is entirely surrounded by chrome finish to foster in some premium appeal to its design, which only gets better with the sporty-looking machined alloy wheels.

At the back, the Kia Forte gets trapezoidal LED tail lamps which have slightly rounded edges. The triangular inserts on the rear bumper add additional sportiness to the car’s rear look.

The sporty styling as well as powerful engines of the Kia Forte are well complemented with a fantastically sorted suspension setup. The front Macpherson struts are common to all the variants, but while the LX and EX get coupled torsion beam axle at the rear, the GY gets a multi-link setup for additional involvement in driving dynamics.

The LX and EX trims of the Kia Forte have been blessed with a 1.6-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, which is coupled to a 6-speed automatic gearbox and makes 128 PS of power and 155 Nm of torque. The same engine is available in the GT trim in a turbocharged state, which produces 204 PS of power and 265 Nm of torque and is coupled to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The Kia Forte is equipped with just the essential safety features onboard, with the list including front, side, and curtain airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill start assist, and rear parking sensors.

The Kia Forte is one perfectly balanced car in all traits, be it the strong performance, supple ride quality, and agile handling, only complimented well with a great sense of styling, both in and out.
