Maxus G10 Overview
The Maxus G10 is the most affordable and range starting model passenger vehicle from the Chinese automaker in the Philippines car market, but it is a proper large multi-seater van intended to ferry multiple people from one place to another in utmost comfort. The Maxus G10 has been made available in the Philippines in one single full-spec variant, with a diesel automatic powertrain as standard and five different color options of Silver, Grey, White, Black, and Gold.

Maxus G10 Interior
For a people moving van, the overall cabin of the Maxus G10 looks quite fresh if not straightaway appealing and extremely modern. The layout of the dashboard has been kept simple, with a good mix of black, beige, and silver panels adding some air of freshness to the cabin.
The simple-looking instrument console, as well as the four-spoke multi-functional steering wheel, might not make up for a very attractive driver’s cockpit. However, the wide center console, with all its silver finish, touchscreen infotainment system, controls for air conditioner, and gear lever, looks quite appealing. Though, the 7-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system looks a bit small by today’s standards.
The cabin is further loaded with other basic essentials like rear AC vents, powered front seats, leather upholstery, and a 220V outlet for charging devices. The long cabin of the Maxus G10 is capable enough for accommodating a total of nine passengers, with captain seats in the first three rows and a flat bench in the last. All of the seats of the Maxus G10 offer good levels of space, comfort, and support.

Maxus G10 Exterior
The Maxus G10 has a clean and simple-looking design which surely makes it look humble and far from dated. However, given the current design trends in the industry as well as other products from Maxus’ very own lineup, the Maxus G10 begins to look staid and needs a refresh.
The front profile of the Maxus G10 has an air of simplicity to it, with the rakish and short bonnet ending up in a sleek-looking angular front grille, which gets three thick chrome slats. This trapezoidal front grille has got bird’s eye-shaped headlamp units on its either side, which house projector units as well as daytime running LEDs within them. The front bumper, with its large and strategically placed fog lamp housings, adds some freshness to the otherwise staid-looking front profile.
From the side, the Maxus G10 looks too simple and boxy, but then, the sharp kink-like character line arising from the front fender and flowing all the way to the edge of the tail lamp adds some sense of length of the van. The absence of a prominent C-pillar, sliding side doors and thick B-pillar add to the sense of the immense length of the Maxus G10 even more. The Maxus G10 gets flared rounded wheel arches for its small 16-inch alloy wheels. At the back, the Maxus G10 continues to have a boxy layout, with an almost rectangular windscreen at the back and sweptback wide tail lamps on its lower edges, which extend from the outwards.

Maxus G10 Ride & Handling
The Maxus G10 is intended to be a comfortable people mover, a task in which it succeeds quite effortlessly, thanks to the soft suspension setup. The suspension combination in the Maxus G10 is made up of Mcpherson struts at the front and five-link coil springs at the rear. The Maxus G10 is no driver’s car, with the light steering setup and body roll making it a below-average handler.
-
Maxus G10 Engine & Fuel Consumption
The powertrain employed to power the Maxus G10 is a 1.9-litre four-cylinder diesel engine coupled to a 6-speed automatic gearbox, which is the standard powertrain combination for this van. The engine here puts up a maximum power output of 150 PS, while the peak torque output is rated at 350 Nm.
-
Maxus G10 Braking & Safety
The Maxus G10 is armed with most of the basic safety essentials, like front and side airbags, ABS with EBD, front and reverse parking sensors, reverse camera, and ISOFIX mounts for child seats.
-
Maxus G10 Verdict
The Maxus G10 might not be a people mover designed for modern and youthful minds. Instead, with its humbly designed exterior and interior cabin, well-placed and comfortable seats, and decent equipment list, this people mover makes up for a practical and value for money van.
