Meanwhile, the sedan with the same displacement but turbocharged employs a SKYACTIV-G 2.5 Turbo Gasoline In-line, 4-Cylinder DOHC, 16-Valves. It can fire up to 231 PS at 5,000 rpm and 420 Nm torque at 2,000 rpm with the same transmission set-up with the wagon. The diesel engine is equipped with 2,191cc SKYACTIV-D 2.2 Turbo Diesel In-line, 4-Cylinder DOHC, 16-Valves that can put out 190 PS at 4,500 rpm and 450 Nm torque at 2,000 rpm. It has the same transmission with the other two trims but has no sports driving selection mode.

As for the braking, Mazda 6 is equipped with Ventilated Discs in the front and Solid Discs in the rear. It also has an electric parking brake with an auto brake hold and has the standard Anti-Lock Braking System with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution.

Among its safety features are six airbags, Dynamic Stability Control, Passenger Seatbelt Warning Lamp, Smart Keyless Entry System, Front and Rear Parking Sensors, 360° Rear View Camera, Child Lock Protection, and ISOFIX.

Some other special safety features include i-STOP Idling Stop System, i-ELOOP Regenerative Braking System, Blindspot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist, and Cylinder Deactivation.
