Peugeot Traveller Premium Review
-
Peugeot Traveller Overview
The only MPV from Peugeot in the Philippines market, the Peugeot Traveller separates itself from the other offerings from the French carmaker – both of which are SUVs – with its extreme versatility and practicality on offer. With a starting price of Php 3,440,000, the Peugeot Traveller is available with diesel powertrain and a total of four colour options to choose from – red, blue, grey and black.
-
Peugeot Traveller Interior
While the interior cabin of the Peugeot Traveller is not as exotic and futuristic as that of the other Peugeot offerings in the market, it still looks much better than the cabin of any other passenger van, with its contemporary approach and significant features.
The multi-functional steering wheel, as well as the analog instrument console with a rectangular MID screen in-between look functional but, aren’t basic by any standards. The driver’s cockpit engulfs the centre console which looks wide and good with a rectangular touchscreen infotainment system, complete with Android Auto and Apple Carplay, and rectangular AC vents beside it. The features like electric sliding doors, heated and powered seats, push-button start with keyless entry and leather upholstery further make it feel more premium on the inside.
The lower portion of the centre console looks minimalist with a sleek array of controls for the dual-zone automatic climate control. However, what catches the attention here is the small and slanted panel attached to the centre console which houses the unique rotary-style gear lever.
Being a seven-seater passenger van, space inside the Peugeot Traveller is abundant, which gets only better with the large side windows and concealed glass roof panels. And despite all the seven seats up, the Traveller has a mightily impressive 1350 litres of boot space.

Peugeot Traveller Exterior
There are very few MPVs and people carrier vans that make a style impression in their first glance. The Peugeot Traveller has played good in this aspect, for it is one of the more stylish looking vans in the business.
At the front, the Peugeot Traveller shares some of its design cues with the latest generation of SUVs like the 5008, which is best evident from the way its headlamps have been designed. The signature inverted C-shaped headlamps with a bulge protruding from their centre do look unique and incorporate projector bulbs. The tapered front grille with chrome surrounds looks nice, while the front bumper looks sporty with the big blackened split grille pattern and placement of daytime running LEDs on the sides.
The Peugeot Traveller looks quite boxy like any other passenger van from the sides, which tones down the impression generated by the front fascia. The large rectangular windows look conventional, though the bulging rounded wheel arches add some visual drama here. The rear too has been designed with not much extravaganza, with a simple large flat windscreen and normal looking vertical tail lamps.
-
Peugeot Traveller Ride & Handling
Engineered on an efficient modular platform, the Peugeot Traveller has been blessed with variable load adjusting shock absorbers, which do succeed in delivering a plush and comfortable ride quality. However, the boxy design and small wheels do translate to a slight amount of body roll, especially at higher speeds.
-
Peugeot Traveller Engine & Fuel Consumption
For the Philippines market, Peugeot has made the Traveller available with just one diesel automatic powertrain. The engine in question here is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine which pumps out a maximum power output of 150 PS, while the peak torque output is rated at 370 Nm. The engine is coupled to a 6-speed automatic gearbox as standard.
-
Peugeot Traveller Braking & Safety
The Peugeot Traveller comes equipped with basic of safety features which do include front, side, and curtain airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, electronic stability control, hill start assist, tire pressure monitoring system, front and rear parking sensors, 360 degrees camera, blind-spot monitoring system, adaptive cruise control and heads up display.
-
Peugeot Traveller Verdict
The Peugeot Traveller has better aesthetics and visual appeal as compared to other basic passenger vans, which do initiate a very strong first impression about the vehicle. The ban does come with premium and feature-rich interiors for its segment while having a good ride quality to rely on.
