Big news with the new Hiace!!!

Better to drive, easy to park, five-star safety. The big news with the new Hiace is that it has changed all of that by finally going to a semi-bonnet design, which has moved the engine and front wheels forward of the front seats. This hasn't necessarily made the new Hiace a better-looking van, but it has made it a more comfortable drive. It's easier to get into thanks to a big step and grab handle, and the driver position is great. The new van offers a more comforting drive too, because moving the engine forward has improved crash safety – Hiace now has a five-star ANCAP rating, which is landmark achievement in the commercial van segment. Not only that, but the new Hiace also carries Toyota's very good Safety Sense package which consists of such things as autonomous emergency braking, lane departure alert with vehicle sway warning, road sign assist, and automatic high beam. Hiace also now has trailer sway control, blind spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, a reversing camera, and parking sensors front and rear – all very important when operating a big van that can be close to six metres long. Adding to all the safety specification is a good level of driver and passenger technology. All versions have a seven-inch touchscreen audio unit with satellite navigation and the SUNA traffic channel, as well as mobile assistant, bluetooth and voice recognition. It all helps make this new Hiace a comfortable – and safe – drive.
