Volvo S90

One of the highlights of the S90 is that it has a bright leather interior that goes incredibly well with the wood trim that just makes this vehicle more good-looking. You can also get yourself comfortable and relaxed with the high class seats, ample rear seat room and impressive materials used throughout the cabin. Nappa leather seats were used in the  rear seat with generous legroom that will provide you with comfort.  However, you might notice less cargo space than other vehicles.

The portrait touchscreen infotainment really compliments the plush interior of this vehicle wherein you can talk to Google for hands-free control just by using your voice.  You can get more things done day by day even while on the road as the built-in google helps you connect with your favorite apps and devices. Not just that, but with Google Maps fully integrated into the car and hands-free voice control with Google Assistant, real-time traffic info and automatic rerouting let you reach your destination no matter how far with less hassle.

The styling was also slightly revamped such as the new front bumper, revised fog lights, updated wheel designs, and reshaped rear spoiler which gives the vehicle a somewhat modernistic look. Oh and don’t get me started on the upgraded Bowers & Wilkins sound system, which is a stunning and high-end speaker design and also one of the best sound systems fitted to any car.

For its 2021 model, Volvo S90 modified its look and added new standard features such as adaptive headlights and wireless device charging. 

With Volvo S90's amazing dimensions and low slung stance, there is no doubt that it is definite eye candy on the thoroughfares. Although the exterior can still be improved, Volvo may have missed adding a lot more advancements to this car's coat. 

What you will expect in its front angle is the traditional longitudinal full LED headlamps. And if you are an avid fan of The Avengers, specifically Thor, you will love the Mjolnir-shaped daytime running LED light at the center of those headlamps. The round-edged rectangular full chrome grille with some vertical chrome slats lies in the mid-front delivering a really old school aura. Meanwhile, you can't help but notice the mild chrome embellishments in the fog lamp housings that adds a bit of glitter to the old school.

The wheelbase is also a plus. With a 2941 mm wheelbase, it just creates a more luxurious structure for the car itself. The window frames and door handles have some chrome elements to add a little bit of style. Although, the design of the 18-inch alloy wheels could have been improved further.

At the back is much simpler than it was on the fronts fascia and the sides. The usual C-shaped tail lamps are just the notable features on the rear side.

What's good about the driving dynamics of the Volvo S90 is the 4C Active Chassis that can give you three different driving modes like Comfort, Sport, or Advanced. It is controlled by a high-technology and impressive electronic management system that can continuously alter the four Monroe-Öhlins shock absorbers for them to interact smoothly with the DSTC system, engine, brakes and steering to give you the best ride at all times.

The S90 was also improved with its innovative powertrain in the Recharge version: a small four-cylinder engine that is both turbocharged and supercharged, along with an optional plug-in hybrid that is very impressive in terms of efficiency and smooth operation. It is powered by a 1969 cc 2.0L Diesel Engine, 4-Cylinder 16 Valve DOHC that can produce up to 190 horsepower and 4000 Nm torque.

As for the gearbox, you can choose between the 6-speed or 8-speed but only the first one is the available transmission set-up here in the Philippines.

In fact, the vehicles advanced driver support technology itself can help keep your car centred in the lane, inform you when it's time to resume driving and even bring the vehicle to a complete stop in the event of an unresponsive driver.

It may not be on the top level in terms of the exterior but the interior, driving dynamics, safety features and its engine.
