BMW G 310 Overview
The BMW G 310 R is the smallest motorcycle from BMW Motorrad in the entire world wherever it has marked its presence. Designed and engineered in collaboration with TVS in India, the BMW G 310 R available in the Philippines is in the first generation version and is being offered in two paint shades of white and black.

BMW G 310 Design
The BMW G 310 R might not have that revolutionary aura around it like its other siblings from BMW when it comes to design, for the fact that it has one of the simplest designs to have ever come from the brand in recent years. However, in isolation, it is one handsome looking motorcycle with all the proportions executed rightly.
At the front, the BMW G 310 R has a petite headlamp unit, which gives a compact fascia to the motorcycle. This small headlamp gets small cowls on its either sides, and instrument console just above it and turn indicators mounted on its upper corners. The front fender looks slightly bigger for the size of this motorcycle.
The BMW G 310 R is at its muscular best when viewed from the sides, with a large and bulky looking fuel tank taking the centre stage. The fuel tank has a nice contrast black stripe running through its middle and inverted V-shaped tank extensions placed just ahead of its lower front edge, making the bike look even bigger than what it is.
While the alloy wheels are finished in an all-black theme, the engine gets dated-looking grey finish, which however gets a sleek engine cowl just below it. The super-slim side body panels and curved but beefy looking rear side body panels add to the aggression of the motorcycle, however, things get a bit toned down with the long single seat.
The rear profile of the BMW G 310 R is the best and most unique angle to look at it. The motorcycle gets a long rear fender, which comes with a clear lens LED tail lamp and turn indicators mounted on them. The large split pillion grab rails, as well as side, mounted exhaust pipe too look very nice.
The BMW G 310 R has an almost straight handlebar, which has premium switchgear and gets a fully digital rectangular LCD instrument console ahead of its centre. The panel is one of the most informative units out there, with digital readouts for speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, temperature gauge, odometer, trip meters, gear indicator, and many other real-time data as well.

BMW G 310 Engine & Fuel Consumption
Powering the BMW G 310 R is the brand’s smallest and the only single-cylinder engine – a four-stroke, single-cylinder, water-cooled, fuel-injected, 313cc engine, which has been jointly developed by TVS in India. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox, and produces a peak power output of 34 PS and a peak torque output of 28 Nm. The engine feels powerful on the go but suffers from notable vibrations at higher speeds.
-
BMW G 310 Braking & Safety
Unlike its bigger capacity stablemates, the BMW G 310 R gets a very basic safety feature list, which comprises disc brakes on both wheels and a dual-channel ABS system operable on both of them.
-
BMW G 310 Verdict
The small and compact nature of the BMW G 310 R might not be the quintessential supreme quality BMW like we have come across in the past. However, for its price, the motorcycle is packed with good quality parts and a potent engine, making it a good tool for quick urban rides.
