CFMoto 150 NK

The CF Moto 150NK might be the most basic motorcycle from the Chinese auto major, but when you see the motorcycle in particular, it is one of the sharpest and most contemporary-looking motorcycles belonging to its segment. The sharp styling and decent levels of modern features make it quite appealing in front of rather subtler looking 150cc commuters.

At the front, the CF Moto 150NK has a sleek looking headlamp, in which the low beam light is an LED unit. Surrounded by a sharp-looking cowl, the CF Moto 150NK’s headlamp is assisted with diamond-shaped sleek-looking LED turn indicators. 

The CF Moto 150NK manages to show its racy stance when you see the motorcycle from sideways, The angular fuel tank with sharp knee recesses and sharp looking vertical fuel tank extensions on its bottom edges add a great sense of visual bulk to its overall design. The rest of the motorcycle looks quite sleek in appearance too, with the slim V-shaped side body panels and exposed trellis frame between the fuel tank and black themed engine adding an element of aggression to it.

While the engine gets a nice looking L-shaped cowl ahead of it, the single stubby exhaust pipe sticks out like a sore thumb here in its overall design and looks pretty basic for this motorcycle. The tailpiece of the motorcycle sharply rises and ends up in a tilted clear lens triangular LED tail lamp. The split seats look comfortable and the pillion seat looks quite roomy as well, however, it is positioned at quite a height and might prove to be a hassle for short people.

The instrument console of the CF Moto 150NK is a part digital unit, with an analog tachometer taking the center stage, along with a squared LCD panel placed to its lower right side. This small LCD screen shows readouts for speedometer, fuel gauge, odometer, trip meters, gear indicator, and an array of warning lights at the bottom of it. The X-shaped clamp in the middle of the handlebar adds a premium appeal to the handlebar as a whole.

Underpinning the CF Moto 150NK is well-finished mechanical hardware, comprising of upside-down hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and a fully adjustable monoshock at the rear, which makes it the most affordable motorcycle in the market to feature upside-down forks at the front. The braking unit too is quite premium with disc brake units at both ends.

Powering the CF Moto 150NK is the company’s smallest motor – a four-stroke, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, 149.5cc engine, which here is coupled to a slick 6-speed gearbox. The engine is capable of putting up 12.5 PS of maximum power and 11.5 Nm of maximum torque output. While the power output might make the CF Moto 150NK look a bit underpowered when compared to its rest of the competitors, on the actual go, it is actually quite sprinty in nature.

With the inclusion of a proper dual-channel ABS in the 150NK, CF Moto has proved that an affordable motorcycle need not skip out on the inclusion of ABS to bring down the costs. The presence of basics like side stand warning and engine kill switch further makes the overall package even more value for money.

The CF Moto 150NK might be a basic commuter motorcycle, in general, to start with. However, despite its comparatively lower price point, the CF Moto 150NK hugely impresses with its sharp and sleek design, decent features, and top-notch mechanical hardware, thus making the overall package hugely compelling.
