CFMoto 700 CL-X Heritage

The design concept of a neo-retro motorcycle is something that always produces eye-catching designs, and the CF Moto 700CL-X Heritage is no exception. The motorcycle blends in the design cues of a retro roadster, modern cruiser and café racer in one single package, which is indeed a treat to look at.

The CF Moto 700CL-X Heritage looks minimalist from the front but definitely commands striking attention. The round LED headlamp of the motorcycle gets a unique daytime running LED light around it, which is shaped like a circle but gets small extensions on all four corners, giving it an impression of an ‘X-shaped’ light. The other bits of the CF Moto 700CL-X Heritage at the front include a chopped-style front fender and golden colored front suspension forks. 

Move towards the side, and the CF Moto 700CL-X Heritage manages to look appealing even more. The very uniquely styled fuel tank of the motorcycle gets a dual-tone treatment, with the brushed aluminium finish on its sides giving it an enriched appeal. The fuel tank gets exposed tubular frame and a full radiator cover below it, which further make the motorcycle look premium. The black-coloured engine sits there in its whole glory and from it emerges out the 2-into-1 exhaust pipe, which is partially finished in golden color. The golden influence can be seen further in its multi-spoke alloy wheels.

One can sense a hint of custom bodywork in the rear profile of the CF Moto 700CL-X Heritage, with the suspended-type tailpiece of the motorcycle. This tailpiece accommodates the short and curved single piece tan colored seat over it. The H-shaped LED tail lamps at the back of the tailpiece and the design of the tailpiece looks very inspired by the Ducati Diavel, though. A short tyre hugger is mounted over the rear wheel, which holds the license plate over it.

Behind the single-piece handlebar of the CF Moto 700CL-X Heritage sits a cool looking round shaped full TFT instrument console. This unit reads out information of speed, engine rpm, fuel gauge, engine temperature, odometer, trip meters and an array of tell-tale lamps around it.

The CF Moto 700CL-X Heritage gets the most sophisticated chassis and suspension setup any CF Moto motorcycle has got to date. The motorcycle gets upside down hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and aluminium swingarm with monoshock at the back, which are tuned slightly stiffer for a fine and agile riding experience. The 17-inch alloy wheels of the motorcycle are shod with knobby fat tyres, for an enhanced riding ability over broken tarmac. The bike comes with conventional single disc brakes at both ends.

The CF Moto 700CL-X Heritage is powered by a four-stroke, liquid-cooled, inline twin, 693cc engine, which happens to be the largest and most powerful engine from CF Moto. Paired to a 6-speed gearbox, this engine pumps out a maximum power output of 73.8 bhp and a peak torque output of 68 Nm.

For a premium middleweight motorcycle, the CF Moto 700CL-X Heritage misses out on a number of safety features and electronics. However, it does get cruise control and a dual-channel ABS.

The CF Moto 700CL-X Heritage has its main essence lies in its overall visual appeal, which surely is eye-catching and a perfect blend of a number of motorcycle themes. This design of the motorcycle gives it a striking and unique identity of its own. The motorcycle is quite fun to ride too, courtesy of the torquey inline twin motor and sportily tuned suspension setup.
