CFMoto ST Papio

For its size and dimensions, the CF Moto St Papio has a youthful design, which has the ability to catch the fancy of people with its sharp lines and modern features. The bike may not have a striking road presence due to its compact size, but the sharp design makes it look cool.

At the front, the CF Moto St Papio seeks inspiration from the bigger ‘NK’ range of roadsters, with its rakish and big front headlamp. This headlamp gets sleek and long side cowls and LED turn indicators mounted on its upper corners. However, while the more premium NK range of roadsters gets an LED headlamp setup, the CF Moto St Papio gets a conventional halogen setup.

The side profile of the CF Moto St Papio looks dwarfed for the fact that it sits on smaller 12-inch alloy wheels. Nevertheless, it looks like how a modern naked roadster should look, with a proportionally good looking and sharply designed fuel tank with broad tank extensions on its lower corners. The streak of side body panels running below the fuel tank is a unique design trait. The whole engine as well as five-spoke alloy wheels are finished in black, with the former leading to a stubby exhaust can on the side.

The blocky looking rear side body panels of the CF Moto St Papio make it look simple when viewed from the rear. These body panels end up in a small LED tail lamp at the back of the pillion seat. From the bottom of the rear side body panels emerge the long rear fender, which manages to make the motorcycle look large from the rear. 

The CF Moto St Papio gets a small trapezoidal-shaped LCD instrument console, which shows basic readouts of speed, engine rpm, fuel level, clock, odometer and trip meters. The overall fit and finish levels of all the body panels and switches feel decent for the price. While the overall design of the CF Moto St Papio looks eye-catching, it is purely not friendly for taller riders due to its diminutive size.

As already mentioned above, the CF Moto St Papio rides on 12-inch wheels, which give it a dwarfed stance. However, these wheels are shod with fat tyres which do give the motorcycle an optimal grip. The motorcycle has got a suspension combination of conventional hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and a fully adjustable monoshock at the back, which is tuned to give a sporty riding experience. The braking combination employed is of disc brakes at both ends.

Powering the CF Moto St Papio is the manufacturer’s smallest engine, which is a four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 124.5cc engine. This engine is made specifically for the St Papio only and is capable of making 9.4 bhp of maximum power output and 8.3 Nm of maximum torque output. For a motorcycle that weighs 114 kg, the CF Moto St Papio offers a decent performance which should serve perfectly in daily commutes.

As an entry-level motorcycle meant for cost-conscious buyers, the CF Moto St Papio misses out on a number of modern-day equipment, with the basic safety kit missing as well. The motorcycle doesn’t get even an ABS but has an engine kill switch as a bare essential.

The CF Moto St Papio is a little fun-to-ride motorcycle that can make your daily urban commutes not much boring. While the small engine and dimensions bring along some restrictions to the fun, it is still a joy to ride, considering its low kerb weight. However, taller riders might find the overall ergonomic setup of this motorcycle a bit cramped for their liking.
