Ducati Diavel 1260 Overview
The Ducati Diavel 1260 is one of the most revolutionary things to happen in the world of cruisers. With its modern take in design, the Ducati Diavel 1260 is positioned in a niche end of the cruiser category. In the Philippines, the Ducati Diavel 1260 is being offered in two variants – standard and ‘S’. Both the variants come with the color option of Sandstone Grey as standard, with the ‘S’ version also available in the Total Black color option.

Ducati Diavel 1260 Design
When it comes to looks and appearance, the Ducati Diavel 1260 ranks very high in the order. The motorcycle ditches the traditional form of cruisers by replacing old retro-looking bits and chrome highlights with a modernized form with blacked-out parts. This makes the Ducati Diavel 1260 look very distinctive, with a hint of the roadster in its laid back cruiser stance.
At the front, the Ducati Diavel 1260 has a low-positioned hexagonal-shaped ful-LED headlamp, which gets crown-shaped daytime running LED covering its side and upper edges. The headlamp is surrounded by a slim black visor, which merges with the tiny visor mounted atop of the headlamp.
From the side, the Ducati Diavel 1260 has a proper muscular look with its elongated curvaceous fuel tank being the biggest highlight here. Apart from the fuel tank, the huge engine, horizontal fuel tank extensions with air scoops and covers for radiator and engine belly pan add to the overall muscle of the motorcycle. In addition to these, the exposed trellis frame under the fuel tank and twin exhaust pipe popping out from the underbelly of the engine add more visual drama to the motorcycle.
The rear profile of the Ducati Diavel 1260 is where the motorcycle looks the most dramatic. The pillion seat of the motorcycle doubles up as the tailpiece, below which are placed two parallel streaks of LED tail lamps. The fat rear tyre of the Ducati Diavel 1260 comes with a tyre hugger on which the license plate is mounted. The single-sided swingarm of the motorcycle makes the rear tyre look glorious from sideways.
The Ducati Diavel 1260 comes with an almost flat handlebar like a roadster, which again is a huge departure from the traditional curvy handlebars of a cruiser. Behind this handlebar sits a 3.5-inch full TFT instrument console, which serves readouts for speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, temperature gauge, odometer, trip meters, gear indicator, selected ride mode, clock and many more. Adding more appeal to the rider’s cockpit here are backlit switches.

Ducati Diavel 1260 Ride & Handling
As expected from a high-end Ducati motorcycle, the Ducati Diavel 1260 too packs in a premium set of hardware.
Sitting on a tubular trellis frame, the Ducati Diavel 1260 gets a suspension combination of 50mm fully adjustable upside-down telescopic forks at the front and a preload and rebound adjustable monoshock with a single-sided swingarm at the back. The more premium ‘S’ variant is equipped with a more sophisticated Ohlins setup for both front and rear suspension.
The Ducati Diavel 1260 runs on 17-inch wheels shod with fat Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tyres and gets a braking combination of dual 320mm disc brake at the front and a single 265mm disc brake at the rear.
-
Ducati Diavel 1260 Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Ducati Diavel 1260 sources its power from a four-stroke, liquid-cooled, Testastretta L-twin, 1262cc engine, which is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox. One of the largest twin cylinder engines in the portfolio of Ducati, this engine makes 162 bhp of maximum power output and 129 Nm of maximum torque output. Unlike any other traditional cruiser, the Ducati Diavel 1260 has a punchy top end as well, apart from having enough torque band in the low and mid-range as well.
-
Ducati Diavel 1260 Braking & Safety
The Ducati Diavel 1260 has been bestowed with all the modern essentials when it comes to safety, with features like power modes, ride modes, cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Wheelie Control, cruise control and an optional up-and-down quickshifter mechanism.
-
Ducati Diavel 1260 Verdict
While the Ducati Diavel 1260 manages to create a very strong first impression just by the way it looks, there is more to the motorcycle in the way it performs. The powerful engine and laid back ergonomics make up for a wonderful combination that is rare in any other cruiser motorcycle in the world right now.
