Ducati Monster 937 Plus

Ducati deserves a lot of praise for re-designing the Monster with new-age design elements, without discarding the original essence of the Monster’s versions introduced to date. The Ducati Monster 937+ looks much sleeker than the previous versions of the Monster, while still retaining its muscular appeal of them.

At the front, the Ducati Monster 937+ gets a rounded headlamp like other Monster versions, but here, this headlamp looks much more modern, as it has daytime running LED around its circumference and a full-LED headlight within it. The motorcycle gets a compact visor above the headlamp, as a part of the ‘Plus package’.

It is the side profile, which makes us believe that the Ducati Monster 937+ looks sleeker and sharper than the other models of the Monster family. The fuel tank has gained sharper knee recesses, and the part of the frame above which it sits also gets sequential LED turn indicators integrated on its frontal part.

Below the fuel tank and frame part sits the massive twin-cylinder engine, which is finished in a theme of black, just like how the 10-spoke alloy wheels on both sides are. Sadly, the engine doesn’t get any protection cowl ahead of it. From the engine, you can see two pipes flowing rearwards to form vertically-stacked dual exhausts, which look slim and beautiful looking with slanted and rounded outlets.

The sharp-raising tailpiece of the Ducati Monster 937+, which rises backwards, gets sharp-looking hollows in the panels below the pillion seat. The Ducati Monster 937+ comes with split seats, with the pillion seat getting a body-coloured cowl as a part of the ‘Plus package’. The rear-most tip of the tailpiece gets a cool-looking LED tail lamp, while an aluminium fender is attached to its lower tip.

Another cool-looking element in the overall package of the Ducati Monster 937+ is its full-TFT instrument console. Sitting on a base above the headlamp, this 4.3-inch screen has multiple display modes for various kinds of information, including the regular details needed while on the go.

Ducati has made all the efforts to make the Monster 937+ feel like one of the most agile to-ride motorcycles. The Ducati Monster 937+ comes with a suspension combination of 43mm upside-down hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and progressive linkage, preload adjustable mono-shock with aluminium double-sided swing-arm at the rear. Riding on 120/70 ZR17 front tyre and 180/55 ZR17 rear tyre, the Ducati Monster 937+ is armed with dual 320mm front discs and a single 245mm rear disc sourced from Brembo.

Powering the Ducati Monster 937+ is the same four-stroke, liquid-cooled, Testastretta-11 degree, 90-degree V-twin engine, that powers other motorcycles from Ducati like SuperSport, Hypermotard and Multistrada V2. This 937cc engine is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox and produces a maximum power output of 111 bhp and a peak torque output of 93 Nm.

The Ducati Monster 937+ is bestowed with a few modern-day electronic riding aids, the list of which comprises riding modes, power modes, cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, bi-directional quick-shifter and power launch.

For the extensive list of features and styling changes that the Ducati Monster 937+ has received over the other previous Monster models, it ranks as the best Monster version produced to date, if not the most powerful. The V-twin engine and premium suspension and brake setup of this motorcycle make it an extremely fun-to-ride motorcycle.
