Ducati Multistrada V4 Review

Ducati Multistrada V4 Overview
One of the most expensive and powerful adventure tourers on sale around the world, the Ducati Multistrada V4 is the fourth-generation version of the flagship adventure motorcycle from Ducati. In this version, the Multistrada finally received a V4 engine, which distinguishes itself from the rest of the adventure tourers on sale in its category. The Ducati Multistrada V4 is being offered for sale in the Philippines in a single Ducati Red colour scheme.

Ducati Multistrada V4 Design
The Ducati Multistrada V4 remains the tall and very Italian-looking adventure tourer like its previous iterations, with the motorcycle having a strong road presence with a hint of its iconic sports bikes and splashes of red. With this new iteration, Ducati has raised the bars by giving a keener sense of attention to aerodynamics, while not compromising on modernity.
At the front, the Ducati Multistrada V4 has the signature dual setup for headlamps, which are all LED units while also having daytime running LED strips over them. Between the lower edges of these headlamps, the motorcycle gets a square-shaped garnish, while there is a tall and transparent windscreen at the top which further enhances the tallish appearance of the motorcycle. At the bottom of the front fascia, the Ducati Multistrada V4 also gets twin beak-shaped angular air ducts, further enhancing the aerodynamics of the motorcycle.
Moving towards the side, the Ducati Multistrada V4 impresses with its muscular stance, thanks to the large 22-litre fuel tank and the V4 engine in all its glory, while finished in a theme of gold. The Y-shaped tank extensions beyond the lower corners of the fuel tank cover the radiator from the sides while featuring wind-shaped curves behind them for efficient cooling of the engine and better aerodynamics.
The Ducati Multistrada V4 further gets a high ground clearance, black alloy wheels, a silver engine belly pan, a double-sided swingarm and a high-rising single-sided exhaust pipe. The angularly rising tail section of the motorcycle has a rather bare-bones look, with the Ducati Multistrada V4 getting a split seat setup above it, while also partially hiding the red-coloured trellis subframe. Towards the rear, the Ducati Multistrada V4 gets a minimalist LED tail lamp setup with large pannier mounts above it behind the pillion seat.
The Ducati Multistrada V4 is also bestowed with a 5-inch TFT instrument console, which has loads of information on display, while also supporting Bluetooth connectivity and navigation. The bike further looks more comprehensive and premium with backlit switchgear, a tall-set handlebar with crash guards and LED turn indicators placed on the sides of the fuel tank extensions.

Ducati Multistrada V4 Ride & Handling
The Ducati Multistrada V4 is designed around a high-quality aluminium monocoque frame while getting 50mm fully-adjustable upside-down telescopic forks at the front and fully-adjustable mono-shock at the rear. The Pirelli Scorpion Trail II tyres – 120/70 ZR19 front and 170/60 ZR17 rear – are soft-compound tyres, which are perfect for long-distance touring and in-city riding, but are not as efficient on off-road terrains as knobby tyres offered in its rivals. The braking duties are executed by dual 320mm discs at the front and a single 265mm disc at the rear.

Ducati Multistrada V4 Engine & Fuel Consumption
Compared to the previous iteration, the new Ducati Multistrada V4 stepped up the game with its revolutionary liquid-cooled, 90-degree V4, 1158cc Granturismo engine, which is paired with a 6-speed transmission. With a maximum power output of 170 PS and a peak torque output of 125 Nm, the Ducati Multistrada V4 is currently the most powerful adventure tourer on sale around the world.
-
Ducati Multistrada V4 Braking & Safety
For a motorcycle of its price, the Ducati Multistrada V4 is decently equipped with riding aids like riding modes, power modes, cornering ABS, traction control and wheelie control.
-
Ducati Multistrada V4 Verdict
The Ducati Multistrada V4 is an expensive motorcycle, even pricier than all of its direct rivals. However, the motorcycle proves its exclusivity and premium positioning over its competitors with the most powerful engine in its segment, in addition to high-quality and expensive mechanical components and riding aids.
