Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Overview
The Harley Davidson Electra Glide is the most affordable offering in the Grand American Touring range of full-size retro-themed cruisers from the American bike maker. While it might be the smallest and entry-level model in that range, it is one of the biggest and most premium motorcycles money can buy in the Philippines. The Harley Davidson Electra Glide is offered in a single variant and only one colour option of Vivid Black.

Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Design
The Harley Davidson Electra Glide has a very charming design, which stays true to the ethos and roots of Harley Davidson by being an old-school retro-themed looker. The overdose of chrome and rounded design language gives the Electra Glide a road presence of a premium and big motorcycle.
At the front, the Harley Davidson Electra Glide has a simple-looking front fascia, which consists of the trademark rounded headlamp having two different units – a halogen setup for high beam and a projector bulb for low beam. This headlamp is integrated within a large cowl, which is wide and curved and covers the headlamps and chrome-finished rearview mirrors behind it. The Harley Davidson Electra Glide also gets small amber-coloured turn indicators on either side of the headlamp.
The side profile of the Harley Davidson Electra Glide impresses you with its sheer size and chrome-bathed engine, dual exhaust pipes, leg guard, and footrests. The Harley Davidson Electra Glide gets multi-spoke black coloured alloy wheels with gracious-looking white paint for the tyres’ sidewalls. In a Harley Davidson fashion for its big cruiser, the Electra Glide gets a peanut-styled curved fuel tank with a chrome top hat, which accommodates a dial for the fuel tank lid.
While moving towards the rear, the Harley Davidson Electra Glide gets simple-looking side body cowls with a single curved seat for the rider. However, one does have the option of assembling a pillion seat at an extra premium. The rear profile of the motorcycle consists of a rounded rear fender with two sizeable luggage panniers on both of its sides. The tail lamp cluster with halogen tail lamp and rounded amber turn indicators are mounted on the rear fender.
The gigantic rider’s cockpit of the Harley Davidson Electra Glide includes four rounded analogue gauges, with one each for speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, and temperature gauge. The lower half of this theatre-style cockpit gets a rectangular TFT screen, which supports navigation and Bluetooth streaming. The rearview mirrors are small, but do offer enough view of what’s going on behind your back.

Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Ride & Handling
The Harley Davidson Electra Glide has a conventional mechanical setup comprising of upside-down hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear for the suspensions setup, and dual disc brakes at the front, and a single disc brake at the rear with a 32 mm four-piston calipers for the brake setup. The Harley Davidson Electra Glide is a proper traditional cruiser, which means that its suspension feels smooth and sorted for long distances and stretches. However, the motorcycle feels heavy while cornering, and can be difficult to manoeuvre for some at slower city speeds.

Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Harley Davidson Electra Glide is powered by one of the most commonly used V-twin engines in the lineup of Harley Davidson – a 1,746cc Milwaukee-Eight 107 V-twin engine. Coupled with a 6-speed gearbox, this V-twin engine produces a maximum power output of 89 bhp, while the peak torque output is 147 Nm. These figures make it a proper long-distance mile muncher, with enough torque in low and midrange to keep it going smoothly.

Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Braking & Safety
The very limited safety equipment list of the Harley Davidson Electra Glide comprises just a dual-channel ABS setup and cruise control. This is something where Harley Davidson could have worked on to make it friendlier for newer riders as well.

Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Verdict
There is a fine old-school charm in the design of the Harley Davidson Electra Glide, which makes it look very appealing. The ergonomics and ride quality of the motorcycle are spot on, which is why it is one of the most preferred full-size cruisers in the world.
