Harley-Davidson Freewheeler Overview
The Harley Davidson Freewheeler is the most affordable model from the three-wheeler trike series of motorcycles from the iconic American motorcycle manufacturer. Based on the existing family of cruisers, the Harley Davidson Freewheeler comes with a heavily customized rear profile, which gives it an altogether different appeal. The Harley Davidson Freewheeler is available in four colour options of River Rock Grey, Snake Venom, Billiard Teal and Vivid Black.

Harley-Davidson Freewheeler Design
The Harley Davidson Freewheeler has the quintessential flavour of a retro-themed cruiser, which all the cruiser motorcycles from the American bike maker possess. However, look closer, and you will find the individualistic design alterations which make the Freewheeler a distinctive motorcycle with its personality.
At the front, the Harley Davidson Freewheeler gets a big round-themed halogen headlamp, the casing of which is finished in chrome. This headlamp unit is placed ahead of a flat frame panel, which itself is finished in heavy chrome. From the top side edges of this framed panel, the two big hydraulic telescopic forks flow down, which also get a complete chrome finish. Halfway down their flow, the forks come fitted with rounded amber turn indicators which also come in chromed housings.
Move towards the side, and the Harley Davidson Freewheeler impresses with its sheer size and abundant use of chrome all around. The motorcycle comes with a round-themed fuel tank, below which sits the huge chrome-finished V-twin engine. Even the footrests and exhaust pipes emerging from the engine and flowing towards the rear are finished in chrome. The Harley Davidson Freewheeler comes with a nicely padded dual seat integrated into a single unit, with the pillion seat tapering down towards the tail section.
Towards the back, the Harley Davidson Freewheeler gets a unique look with two different tyres on either side of the tail section, with both of them getting their curved fenders above them. The halogen tail lamps are mounted on the curved rear tips of both fenders. Between the tyres, there is a large and wide sloping down tail section which doubles up as a luggage carrier within it. What adds more glory to the design of the Harley Davidson Freewheeler are the five-spoke machined alloy wheels.
The Harley Davidson Freewheeler gets a decently informative instrument console mounted on top of the sloping panel, which is placed on the fuel tank and is also finished in chrome. This rounded instrument console has a speedometer and a digital LCD screen for readouts of other basic data.

Harley-Davidson Freewheeler Ride & Handling
The Harley Davidson Freewheeler gets a conventional but premium chassis setup, with the suspension combination being a pair of inverted hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and a mono-shock placed beneath the pillion seat at the rear. As the appearance of the Harley Davidson Freewheeler goes, the motorcycle is intended to be used for long-distance cruising, and it does it very effortlessly. The motorcycle comes paired with a pair of disc brakes with a 32mm 4-piston fixed calliper at the front and a single disc brake with a 36mm single-piston calliper at the rear.

Harley-Davidson Freewheeler Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Harley Davidson Freewheeler is powered by a four-stroke, liquid-cooled, V-twin, 1868cc engine, which in Harley Davidson’s dictionary, is called Milwaukee-Eight 114 engine. Coupled with a 6-speed gearbox, the engine produces a maximum power output of 159 Nm, which is good enough to propel this behemoth of a motorcycle in any gear.
-
Harley-Davidson Freewheeler Braking & Safety
For a premium motorcycle like the Freewheeler, Harley Davidson has introduced only the basics of safety and security features, which include cruise control, security system and reverse gear with parking brake.
-
Harley-Davidson Freewheeler Verdict
The Harley Davidson Freewheeler might not be the most practical motorcycle to ride in city traffic, due to its sheer size and unique rear-wheel arrangement, which gives it a massive turning radius cumbersome for urban traffic conditions. However, for long-distance cruising, the Freewheeler impresses with its sorted and supple ride quality and good stability at higher speeds due to added traction of an extra wheel at the back.
