With the Low Rider S, Harley Davidson has shown to the world that it is still not over making lovable cruisers and still has got the potential to draw customers to its showrooms with its modern design. This low-slung cruiser is capable of charming people with its old-school design which is assisted with modern-day design elements and features.

At the front, the Harley Davidson Low Rider S gets a rounded all-LED headlamp which sits within a curvaceous cowl covering the headlamp from all the sides. It is this cowl that makes the front of the Low Rider S look big. Like in most other Harley Davidson motorcycles, the Low Rider S comes with a chopped-style front fender, while the rounded amber turn indicators sit high just below the handlebar levers.

The Harley Davidson Low Rider S carries forward its majestic visual appeal on the side profile as well, as the motorcycle looks huge and dark with all of its cycle parts, like the engine, vertically-stacked dual exhausts and other levers and components finished in a theme of black. Even the smaller-looking cowls present just below the rider’s seat have a gloss black finish to them. However, in a unique move, the Harley Davidson Low Rider S comes with golden-coloured alloy wheels as standard, which is a one-of-a-kind feature for a Harley Davidson motorcycle.

The Harley Davidson Low Rider S comes with a large and well-curved and padded single seat at the verge of the long peanut-style fuel tank, which has a plastic black strip running in the middle of it. There is a provision for a pillion seat, which can be attached over the rear fender at an additional cost. The long and curved rear fender ends up with a clear lens LED tail lamp at the back, above which sits the license plate. The rounded amber turn indicators are mounted on the clamps present on the sides of the rear fender.

The single-pod part-digital instrument console of the Harley Davidson Low Rider S is shared with the Fat Bob. This unit packs in an analogue tachometer and a small LCD screen at the bottom, which displays speed, fuel gauge, gear, clock, odometer and trip meters.

The Harley Davidson Low Rider S is one of the most modern motorcycles in the cruiser family from the bike maker when it comes to chassis as well. The motorcycle comes with upside-down hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and a completely hidden mono-shock at the back, which is tuned on a softer side to make this motorcycle feel plush and comfortable on long stretches of roads. The motorcycle has got 110/90 B19 front tyre and 180/70 B16 rear tyre, which gives it both excellent visual appeal and grip at faster speeds. For halting duties, the Harley Davidson Low Rider S comes fitted with dual disc brakes at the front and a single disc brake at the rear.

The Harley Davidson Low Rider S gets one of the latest engines from the Harley Davidson family – a four-stroke, liquid-cooled, V-twin, Milwaukee-Eight 117 engine. Paired to a 6-speed gearbox, this mammoth 1923cc engine pumps out 169 Nm of torque, which is one of the highest among the Harley Davidson cruisers. Harley Davidson claims a fuel economy of 20 kmpl for the Low Rider S.

Only a dual-channel ABS is available in the Harley Davidson Low Rider S as a safety feature, with the motorcycle missing out on modern electronic riding aids.

With its all-dark visual appeal, traditional cruiser stance with modern bits at places and a torquey and mammoth-sized engine, the Harley Davidson Low Rider S looks every bit a desirable motorcycle. However, we would have loved to see more modern electronic riding aids, which would have made it a complete motorcycle.
