Honda ADV160

The Honda ADV 160 is one of the most distinctively designed two-wheeler in the market, combining characteristics of a scooter and an adventure motorcycle. The updated ADV 160 has a stunning road presence because of its distinctive appearance.

The Honda ADV 160 sports a busy-looking front apron with two cleverly-designed twin LED headlamps in the centre. The daytime running LEDs on these headlamps' upper corners, which are separated by a black Y-shaped garnish, add to the fascia's powerful and muscular appearance. The wide glass windscreen, which is height-adjustable and gives the ADV 160 additional apparent heft, completes this busy-looking front end at the top.

The lower sides of the front apron that extend onto the floorboard of the Honda ADV 160 receive C-shaped body panels as we move into the side profile. The floorboard panel has a split design with a fuel tank positioned within the partition and receives a dual-tone treatment with a silver finish throughout. The ADV 160's rear side body panels have an aggressive appearance as well, with many creases and curves and a large level seat positioned over it.

The Honda ADV 160 has split pillion grip rails next to the pillion seat, as well as a small X-themed tail lamp towards the back of the tail portion. The ADV 160 has a more upscale appearance thanks to the side-mounted exhaust pipe's silver adorned panel and the rear suspension unit's gas reservoirs' golden finish.
The Honda ADV 160 has a sizable rectangular negative LCD instrument console behind its tapered handlebar. Also, the ADV 160 has more contemporary amenities, such as a USB charging port and LED turn indicators.

The Honda ADV 160 is a scooter, but with its long-travel suspension system, which includes telescopic forks up front and gas-charged dual coil springs at the back, it provides a riding experience similar to that of a motorcycle. The 110/80-14 front and 130/70-13 rear tyres on this scooter help it handle with agility. The towering seat height of 780mm and the high ground clearance of 180mm are reminiscent of motorcycles. At both ends of the ADV 160, single-disc brakes are installed.

Powering the Honda ADV 160 is a tried-and-true four-stroke, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 157cc engine that also powers a handful of Honda's other 160cc models. It generates a peak torque output of 14.7 Nm and a maximum power output of 16 PS when connected to a CVT transmission. Honda states that the ADV 160 has a maximum fuel efficiency of 45 kmpl. The Honda ADV 160 also has an idle start-stop mechanism, which turns off the ignition when the scooter comes to a halt with the ignition on for increased efficiency.

The Honda ADV 160 is fitted with a smart key system, which gives the scooter the option of keyless ignition in addition to a single-channel ABS.

The Honda ADV 160's overall performance and rideability are highly motorcycle-like despite the fact that it is a scooter with all the practicalities and features of a scooter. The ADV 160 is a pleasant machine to ride because of its tall stance, handling, and ride quality, which may remind you of riding an entry-level sport adventure motorcycle.
