Honda CRF250RX

The Honda CRF250RX looks like an honest attempt toward enduro motorcycles, which looks great and fit for the job of covering off-road terrains. There are various factors which make it a non-street legal motorcycle, such as the absence of front and rear lights and mirrors. However, the rightly styled body panels make up for it and make the Honda CRF250RX look like how a proper off-road enduro motorcycle should look like.

At the front, the Honda CRF250RX gets a flat red coloured cowl in place of the headlamp, which has tapered edges towards the bottom. Just adjacent to the point where the lower tapered edges of this front cowl meet, the motorcycle gets a high-mounted body-coloured front fender, which is large and makes the Honda CRF250RX look big from the front. Another bit which makes the Honda CRF250RX big for its size is the 21-inch front wheel and off-road tyre over it.

There are several fibre body panels on the side profile of the Honda CRF250RX, such as the zig-zag panel around the small fuel tank with contrast body graphics and the large cover over the high-mounted exhaust pipe which is finished in a theme of silver. The Honda CRF250RX gets a body-coloured single-piece seat, which is almost flat and gets Honda badging on the sides of it. The spoke wheels with proper off-road spec tyres truly add to the overall rugged appeal of the motorcycle, and so does the high ground clearance and a small bash plate below the engine.

The Honda CRF250RX doesn’t get a proper rear profile either, as the flat and pointy panel below the seat extends to the rear over the rear wheel. Like at the front, the rear also doesn’t get a proper tail lamp and turn indicators. The rider’s cockpit of the Honda CRF250RX is minimalist too, as it doesn’t get a functional instrument console. This lack of a console makes the cockpit look bare-bones, which could have looked even more basic had the motorcycle didn’t get the nice-looking and very functional handlebar crash guards finished in body colour.

It’s not only the looks but the overall mechanical setup of the Honda CRF250RX also has been engineered to make the motorcycle perform in a proper functional way on the off-road terrains. The motorcycle rides on a 21-inch front wheel and 18-inch rear wheel – a combination that most off-road motorcycles look forward to. These wheels come with 90/90-21 off-road tyre at the front and 110/110-18 off-road tyre at the rear, which are also perfectly suited for the job. The motorcycle comes with Showa-sourced suspension units – 49mm upside-down hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and a pro-link mono-shock with a rectangular swing-arm at the rear. For braking, the CRF250RX gets a 260mm disc at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear.

Like the overall styling, Honda has given keen focus to the heart of the CRF250RX as well. The motorcycle gets a four-stroke, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 249cc engine, which is perfectly suited for a motorcycle of this cadre. Coupled with a 5-speed gearbox, this carbureted engine produces a maximum power output of 29.5 PS and a peak torque output of 24.2 Nm. The engine impresses with an ample amount of torque in the lower and mid-range, which gives this motorcycle appreciable pulling power.

There are no prominent safety features available in the Honda CRF250RX, as the motorcycle is an entry-level off-road enduro motorcycle with no intent of road use.
