Honda PCX160 Design
The Honda PCX 150 was already a good-looking option for the entry-level maxi scooter category, and the Honda PCX 160 has taken the factor of desirability one notch above with its minute tweaks and feature additions over its predecessor. While the overall styling and silhouette more or less remain the same, the PCX 160 gets subtle tweaks at the front and rear to make it look different.
At the front, the Honda PCX 160 has retained the sloping front apron, which looks sleek and gets the same V-type arrangement for the lights. While the upper edges of this lighting housing have got clear lens LED turn indicators, the lower part integrates full LED headlamps with sharp-looking L-shaped daytime running LEDs above them. The plus-shaped front windscreen with a curved bulging central part looks good with the rest of the front apron.
The side profile of the Honda PCX 160 has been minutely tweaked, and one might not find the changes carried out at the first glance. The Honda PCX 160 retains the split floorboard design with the fuel tank filler cap placed in the middle of the central tunnel. This tunnel merges well with the rear side body panels which flow towards the rear in an angular fashion. The new Honda PCX 160 gets Y-themed multi-spoke black alloy wheels and a new exhaust muffler as a part of the new design update.
The Honda PCX 160 gets a large seat, which is wide enough to accommodate two riders with ease and pack in a significant 30 litres of the under-seat storage compartment. Like the front profile, the rear profile too has been substantially tweaked with a new LED arrangement for the tail lamp assembly. The X-shaped tail lamp cluster gets LED turn indicators on its lower side edges. Above the tail lamp sits the large and wide body-coloured pillion grab rail.
The instrument console of the Honda PCX 160 has been completely revised, with the new full LCD screen now displaying the speedometer, fuel gauge, odometer, trip meters, clock, and other details related to MID. While the whole scooter looks top-notch in terms of design, the steel handlebar looks a bit low-rent for the scooter and could have been replaced with an alloy finished unit.

Honda PCX160 Ride & Handling
The basic chassis of the Honda PCX 160 has been carried forward from the PCX 150, and it continues to get telescopic forks at the front and a single hydraulic coil spring at the rear. The scooter now rides on a new set of 14-inch front alloy wheel and a 13-inch rear alloy wheel, both of which get new wider 110/70-14 front tyre and 130/70-13 rear tyre.

Honda PCX160 Engine & Fuel Consumption
The biggest update for the scooter comes in the form of an upgraded engine. The previous generation 150cc engine has now been replaced with a bigger and more powerful single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 157cc engine. The engine has been tech-laden with enhanced smart power (eSP+) which gets a silent starting mechanism and auto start-stop functions. Due to this series of upgrades, the maximum power and torque outputs of the scooter have seen decent bumps, as they are now rated at 15.8 PS and 15 Nm respectively.
-
Honda PCX160 Braking & Safety
The Honda PCX 160 gets disc brakes at both front and rear, which are complemented with a combined braking system in the CBS variant and a dual-channel antilock braking system in the ABS variant. Apart from this, the ABS variant also gets traction control with selectable torque control and remote smart key keyless ignition system.

Honda PCX160 Verdict
With the new update, the desirability of the Honda PCX 160 has got only better. The new engine with upgraded performance and new features certainly make it look and feel fresher and more premium than the model it has replaced.
