Honda TMX Supremo

The Honda TMX Supremo is clearly not a bike to be praised for the way it looks, as the overall styling looks pretty basic. However, for the mature audience to which it is targeted, it looks pretty clean and has a proportional design which is easy to the eyes.

At the front, the Honda TMX Supremo is adorned with a large trapezoidal headlamp which is slightly slanted, in an attempt to make it look modern. The headlamp is surrounded by nice looking panels on its sides acting as its shrouds.

The oversized amber turn indicators and the exposed instrument cluster with no cowl in front of it complete the face of the TMX Supremo. The TMX Supremo gets a unique bit here at the front, and that is its color-coded front shockers. However, the chrome-plated front fender looks pretty low rent.

The Honda TMX Supremo gets a smooth looking fuel tank which has a sloping design and looks pretty basic, with the zig-zag shaped decals on it enhancing its look quite a bit. The side body cowls too have a very simple design, which again gets the decals in continuation with that of a fuel tank.

Being a motorcycle built to a cost, the Honda TMX Supremo shows its affordable side in the form of a grey finished engine and spoke wheels. The single-piece seat on the motorcycle is large and flat, which provides more than enough room for two full-sized people.

The rear panels of the Honda TMX Supremo too are very basic in visual appeal, which only gets simpler with the large and functional tubular grab rail. The simple tail lamp and amber coloured turn indicators along with large rear fender complete the look of the motorcycle at the rear.

The instrument console of the Honda TMX Supremo is large and has a basic layout with analog dials for speedometer, odometer, and fuel gauge, and that’s it. The handlebar is positioned at quite a height, with the motorcycle getting long palm grips and chrome-plated levers. The switchgear on the motorcycle surprisingly premium, but the overall build quality of the Honda TMX Supremo is pretty decent with acceptable levels.

Given the simplistic approach in terms of design, it is pretty natural that Honda TMX Supremo gets simple mechanicals for its chassis. The hydraulic telescopic forks at the front as well as hydraulic coil springs at the rear have been tuned for acceptably comfortable ride quality, with the frame being sturdy enough to take worse of the roads with ease. The motorcycle gets drum brakes at both the ends.

The Honda TMX Supremo has been given a four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, carbureted, 150cc engine, which is the smallest and most basic engine from Honda in terms of construction and technology among its lineup of motorcycles.

The engine is coupled to a five-speed gearbox, the engine churns out a maximum power output of 11.1 PS, with the peak torque output rated at 11.6 Nm. The engine has decent levels of refinement, with a good punch of torque present in the lower rev range. The fuel efficiency of 62 kmpl makes the TMX Supremo one of the most fuel-efficient two-wheelers available in the market right now.

Despite being a cheap and entry-level motorcycle, the Honda TMX Supremo gets a couple of safety features like a key shutter mechanism for the ignition keyhole, pass flasher, and engine kill switch, along with the added convenience of an electric starter.

The Honda TMX Supremo is basic from all the aspects and angles you look at it. However, when it comes to the job of being a proper heavy-duty motorcycle with a sufficient amount of performance and ease of riding is taken into consideration, the TMX Supremo performs that task with excellent prowess.
