Honda Wave110 Alpha Overview
The Honda Wave 110 Alpha is one of the cheapest models from Honda’s lineup in the Philippines, and is the most affordable underbone bike in its entire portfolio. The bare-bones urban commuter is aimed at those who want a simple mode of transport from point A to point B. Priced at PHP 47,700, the Honda Wave 110 Alpha has been made available in the Philippines in three different paint options – Black, Red, and Blue.

Honda Wave110 Alpha Design
The Honda Wave 110 Alpha fails to set itself in a league of its own owing to its too basic visual appeal. The Honda Wave 110 Alpha looks too simple and staid in the eyes, which definitely isn’t designed with the utmost attention.
The utilitarian essence of the Honda Wave 110 Alpha is pretty evident when you see it from the front, with the small front apron and large front fender designed very simply. The rather small front apron houses triangular clear lens turn indicators on its either sides. The handlebar cowl too looks not so fancy and eye-catching and incorporates a simple headlamp that has a curved bottom edge.
From the sides, the Honda Wave 110 Alpha looks simplistic with almost bland design. The side extensions of the front apron flow down vertically, leaving a sharp edge beside the engine. Speaking of the engine, it is finished in a grey theme. The bike comes equipped with tall spoke wheels and a long black finished exhaust pipe.
Honda has tried to make the Wave 110 Alpha equally simple from the rear as well, with a single pillion grab rail as well as a wide tail lamp housing. The instrument console of the Wave 110 Alpha too looks very subtle and plain-jane with analog dials for the speedometer, odometer, and fuel gauge. Given that it is the most basic of the underbone bikes offered by Honda, it is devoid of many comforts and convenience features and comes with only a self-starter to boast of. The build quality and fit and finish levels are above satisfactory levels, making it feel as if it is built to last.

Honda Wave110 Alpha Ride & Handling
It is not only the basic styling that makes the Honda Wave 110 Alpha the most simple bike among the rest of the underbone bikes from Honda. It even has got very simple mechanical components to make its ride and handling balance fine. The Honda Wave 110 Alpha is fitted with hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and coil springs at the rear. This sounds basic but is tuned very aptly for urban conditions. The tall 17-inch wheels are shod with rather skinny tires, which lose out in terms of outright grip, but it surely gives decent feedback on the application. The brake setup on the Honda Wave 110 Alpha looks very simple, with drum units at both the ends.

Honda Wave110 Alpha Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Honda Wave 110 Alpha sources its power from a four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, carbureted 109.6cc engine, which is coupled to a 4-speed gearbox as standard. The engine puts up a maximum power output of 8.5 PS, whereas the peak torque output of the bike is rated at 8.6 Nm. The engine, despite being the smallest in Honda’s lineup, feels zestier, thanks to the low kerb weight of the bike.
-
Honda Wave110 Alpha Braking & Safety
The Honda Wave Dash 110 misses out on basic safety equipment, even that of an ABS, in order to keep the costs in check and make its pricing overall competitive.

Honda Wave110 Alpha Verdict
For all those who want the legendary reliability and smoothness of a Honda two-wheeler and the usability of an underbone bike with a little attention to visual appeal, the Honda Wave 110 Alpha is a great answer. The bike looks simple yet mature with its easy on the eye styling and fine mechanicals, yet retaining the factor of reliability Honda products are known for. However, the lack of features does let you remind that it is a basic underbone bike after all.
