Honda Wave110R Overview
One of the most basic two-wheelers you can get from the stable of Honda in the Philippines, the Honda Wave 110 Alpha is the cheapest underbone scooter you can have. The Honda Wave 110 Alpha has been priced at PHP 47,700 for the single variant in which it is available, with three colour options on offer – red, black, and blue.

Honda Wave110R Design
The Honda Wave 110 Alpha has been crafted keeping the budget-oriented buyers in mind with maximum focus on utility. This is the reason why it shows little attention to the aspect of design, which is very evident from its simple and basic looks.
At the front, the Honda Wave 110 Alpha has a very simple face consisting of a dated looking headlamp fitted within a nicely styled handlebar cowl. The front apron has been given a very short but a bit wide layout, with triangular clear lens turn indicators on either of its sides. The short fender is mounted a bit higher, which goes well with the large front wheel.
The side extensions of the front apron flow down vertically on the sides and end up just ahead of the engine mounted below. The engine, with its grey finish, looks pretty basic, however, the long exhaust pipe flowing sideways from the engine has been given an all-black finish.
The side body panels of the Honda Wave 110 Alpha too look very simple and staid, however, the big fonts for the scooter’s name printed on them add some amount of visual drama to it. The long single-piece seat feels roomy, despite the compact size of the scooter.
The simple approach in the designing of the Honda Wave 110 Alpha has been executed towards its rear as well, where the scooter gets a basic looking tail lamp, with clear lens turn indicators mounted on the rear fender below. The single-piece pillion grab rail might look utilitarian but is practical for pillion riders.
As expected, the instrument console of the Honda Wave 110 Alpha looks neat and minimalist, with all analog dials for the speedometer, odometer, and fuel gauge – and that’s it. While the scooter does not possess a fancy design language, the area where it feels appreciable is the sense of good build quality it carries throughout its profile.

Honda Wave110R Ride & Handling
With a sorted suspension setup consisting of hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and a twin soil springs with swingarm at the rear, the Honda Wave 110 Alpha might not feel too fancy in its hardware. However, for the heavy-duty purpose it has been engineered, the Honda Wave 110 Alpha feels sturdy on the go and takes on all kinds of surfaces with ease. Braking duties are being taken care of by simple 130mm drum brakes on either end.

Honda Wave110R Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Honda Wave 110 Alpha sources its power from a simple four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, carbureted 109cc engine, which is one of the smallest engines Honda makes for its scooter lineup.
The engine is mated to a basic 4-speed gearbox and produces 7.6 PS of maximum power output and 8.54 Nm of maximum torque output. The engine feels decently powerful and refined which performs well on the expectations from a typical Honda engine.
-
Honda Wave110R Braking & Safety
The Honda Wave 110 Alpha showcases its simple approach in its equipment list too, which unsurprisingly does not feature any kind of sophisticated safety features in order to keep the costs in check.
-
Honda Wave110R Verdict
The Honda Wave 110 Alpha might seem too basic and under-equipped for a two-wheeler from a modern era. However, for its price, which is too low, there is no other scooter or motorcycle which can match the sturdy mechanicals of the Honda Wave 110 Alpha.
The engine, as well as overall chassis, feel built to last for a very long life, which indicates that Honda has not compromised on the quality of the mechanical bits if a compromise has been done on novelty and features.
