Honda Wave125 Alpha Overview
The Honda Wave 125 Alpha is designed for those who want a dash of modernity along with the trusted and reliable mechanicals of the entry-level Wave 110 Alpha. The Honda Wave 125 Alpha is being offered by the Japanese two-wheeler maker in the Philippines with three different colour options – black, red, and blue, and has been priced at PHP 60,900.

Honda Wave125 Alpha Design
Honda intended to appeal the entry-level buyers of an under-bone bike with the Wave 125 Alpha, which has slightly better looks and appeal over the entry-level Wave 110 Alpha. While the buyers have found it appealing, there is still some scope for improvement in terms of looks, as the Wave 125 Alpha is still a bit pale looking vehicle in general.
The front profile of the Honda Wave 125 Alpha looks much more substantial over its 110cc counterpart, with a revised and sportier-looking handlebar cowl which comes with a smart-looking headache at the centre. The front apron of the Wave 125 Alpha is short and features nice looking curved type clear lens turn indicators. The beak-shaped front fender is big and goes well with the large front wheel.
The side profile of the Honda Wave 125 Alpha has been glorified with five-spoke black alloy wheels, which ditch the bare-bones appeal of the 110cc version by a considerable amount. The long and vertically laid side extensions of the front apron look nice and proportionate and come with simple looking body decals. The engine here placed below is finished in all-black treatment and has a sporty looking engine cowl placed ahead of it.
The long and upraising side body panels of the Honda Wave 125 Alpha look smart, courtesy their sleek design, and subtle looking body decals. The single-piece seat is long and end up in a compact single piece silver-finished grab rail.
The rear design of the Honda Wave 125 Alpha has a simple design to it, with a long rear fender which commences from a compact tail lamp. The turn indicators are clear lens units here as well. The side-mounted exhaust is quite long in size and comes with an aluminium shield over it, just like in any other entry-level commuter motorcycle.
The Honda Wave 125 Alpha is graced by an all-analog instrument console, which has analog dials for the speedometer, odometer and fuel gauge, and has a very simple design matching the overall sober character of the bike. One nice looking addition here happens to be silver-finished levers on both sides of the handlebar.

Honda Wave125 Alpha Ride & Handling
Matching the basic nature of its visual appeal, the overall mechanicals under the skin of the Honda Wave 125 Alpha are also pretty simple in isolation. Based on an under-bone frame, the Honda Wave 125 Alpha has been fitted with hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and coil springs at the rear. The overall chassis feels rugged and absorbs all kinds of abuses thrown at it pretty well. The presence of a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear make up for the braking duties.

Honda Wave125 Alpha Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Honda Wave 125 Alpha is powered by a four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, carbureted, 125cc engine. Mated to a 4-speed gearbox, this engine offers additional poke over its 110cc counterpart with impressive numbers – 8.84 PS of maximum power output and 10.07 Nm of peak torque output. The engine has good grunt and refinement levels in lower rpms, which is a good thing given its commuter nature.

Honda Wave125 Alpha Braking & Safety
Save for the front disc brake, there is no other major safety feature in the Honda Wave 125 Alpha, given its entry-level nature.
-
Honda Wave125 Alpha Verdict
The Honda Wave Wave 125 Alpha is priced at a premium over its 110cc sibling in the lineup. However, given the additional slight amount of style, better chassis components, and added power, this is the under-bone bike to go for if you are looking for an entry-level commuter.
