Indian FTR 1200 Overview
The Indian FTR 1200 is an unusual offering because it is a full-fledged naked roadster that is available alongside Indian motorcycles' heavy-duty cruisers and bobbers. With its distinctive design and unmatched performance, this American V-twin roadster competes with other flagship models. The Black Metallic and Stealth Grey with Orange Burst colours are the only ones offered for the Indian FTR 1200.

Indian FTR 1200 Design
The Indian FTR 1200 is a flagship roadster that boasts an aggressive appearance and uncompromising design, making it a head-turner on the streets. With a tall and imposing stance, the FTR 1200 commands attention, and the introduction of new color options further enhances its appeal. Let's take a closer look at the various aspects of the Indian FTR 1200.
The FTR 1200 features a modest round headlamp with LED technology, incorporating tiny projectors and LED DRLs. A gloss-black cowl with an embossed "Indian" emblem sits above the headlamp, while the chopped-style front fender is reminiscent of the Scout lineup, with sleek, sharp, amber LED turn indicators mounted on the upper corners.
The sloping fuel tank is similar to those in the Scout range, but it stands out with distinct graphics and redesigned knee recesses. The FTR 1200's massive V-twin engine is housed beneath the fuel tank within a black tubular trellis frame. A large, curved radiator is positioned in front of the engine, accompanied by a slanted engine cowl covering the dual, curved exhaust pipes. These exhausts feature a vertically stacked double-barrel design, flowing towards the rear.
The FTR 1200 offers a long, curved seat and a side-mounted monoshock, but it lacks functional side panels and a tail cowl. The rear of the motorcycle features a small tail lamp attached to the bent trellis subframe, on which the seat is mounted. A rear tire hugger with integrated LED turn indicators completes the design.
As the entry-level model in Indian's FTR lineup, the FTR 1200 comes equipped with a single-pod, partially digital, circular instrument console. This unit displays a digital fuel gauge, odometer, and trip meter, in addition to an analog speedometer.

The suspension travel on these ZF Sachs units is 120mm. The FTR 1200 also has 17-inch alloy wheels with 120/70 ZR17 front and 180/55 ZR17 rear tyres, just like the majority of the other flagship roadsters. Indian FTR 1200 Engine & Fuel Consumption
The 1203cc, four-stroke, liquid-cooled, V-twin engine that powers the Indian FTR 1200, making it one of the largest roadsters available in the world. This engine has a 6-speed transmission and can generate a maximum of 118 Nm of torque and 123 horsepower of power. This V-twin engine seems more like an American mill than other flagship roadsters with such a big engine, and it offers a lot of torque in the mid-range, which is where it excels. Although it doesn't have a high rev limit, it provides a strong pull in any gear you choose.

Indian FTR 1200 Verdict
The Indian FTR 1200 is a unique and underappreciated motorcycle among all the current flagship roadsters on sale. This motorcycle's long-stroke American V-twin engine has an addictive mid-range, and its slim and tall stance makes it nimble to ride. We did wish it could have included more contemporary elements, though.
