Kawasaki KX 250 Overview
The Kawasaki KX250 is a beginner-level off-road motocross bike in the premium quarter-litre category, offering itself as an upgrade from the even lower-spec KX65 or KX112. This motorcycle is specially designed and engineered for strict off-road usage in enclosed terrains and is not a road-legal motorcycle for commutes and long road trips. Available in a single variant, the Kawasaki KX250 is being offered in Lime Green colour option in the Philippines two-wheeler market, just like in other parts of the world.

Kawasaki KX 250 Design
Like any other KX series motocross bike from Kawasaki, the KX250 also has a very minimalist design with basic bodywork at the front and sides. This purposeful design of the KX250 gives it the required visual appeal of a motorcycle that is designed purely for the single-minded purpose of conquering off-road trails.
The minimalist front profile of the Kawasaki KX250 has a trapezoidal body-coloured cowl with tapered edges and creases at the bottom sitting in place of a conventional headlamp. The front mudguard here is a high-mounted fender, which only adds to the purpose of the design. The front forks of the motorcycle have a golden finish in their upper halves, which further makes the motorcycle look expensive from the front.
The minimalism in the overall design of the Kawasaki KX250 strengthens in the side profile, where the motorcycle gets basic bodywork to partially cover the tiny fuel tank and aluminium chassis beneath them. While the panels around the fuel tank have bold graphics, the panels below the seat look devoid of graphics and have a curved design over the side-positioned, high-mounted exhaust pipe. The KX250 has a long and functional seat finished in a theme of green, matches the overall colour scheme of the motorcycle.
At the back, the Kawasaki KX250 has no tail lamp, with the side panels merging behind the seat to give the motorcycle a pointed look from the rear. To make it look even more rugged and purposeful, Kawasaki has given the KX250 a set of aluminium spoke wheels with off-road-spec tyres with large tread blocks. There is no instrument console on the motorcycle either, with the KX250 having aluminium levers and a basic electric starter switch.

Kawasaki KX 250 Ride & Handling
The hardcore suspension setup of the Kawasaki KX250 includes 48mm inverted telescopic forks with adjustable compression and rebound damping and 314mm travel at the front and a New Uni Trak with adjustable dual-range compression damping, adjustable rebound damping and adjustable preload with 316mm travel. It is this suspension setup which serves as the soul of the Kawasaki KX250, for this suspension setup makes it an effortless motorcycle to ride in the worst of terrains.
Both front and rear suspension setups of the Kawasaki KX250 offer long travel to make it easier to ride over rocky surfaces or the ones with low traction. The Kawasaki KX250 comes with a combination of 21-inch front and 19-inch rear aluminium spoke wheels, with the motorcycle having 80/100-21 front and 110/90-19 rear tubeless tyres. Featuring off-road-spec large tread blocks, these hard-compound tyres make the KX250 even more effortless to ride on surfaces with less traction. The KX250 has a seat height of 960mm, which can be concerning for riders with short height. The braking combination of the Kawasaki KX250 includes a 240mm front petal disc brake and a 215mm rear petal disc brake.

Kawasaki KX 250 Engine & Fuel Consumption
Powering the Kawasaki KX250 is a high-revving four-stroke, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 249cc engine, with the 5-speed gearbox offered as the transmission unit on this motorcycle. Kawasaki claims a maximum power output of 41 PS and a maximum torque output of 25.4 Nm, with it offering a peak performance at higher rpms.
-
Kawasaki KX 250 Braking & Safety
The Kawasaki KX250 misses out on all the sophisticated riding aids and even must-have features like ABS or traction control to keep the weight and costs in check. However, this sturdy off-road motorcycle has a factory-style 28.6mm Renthal aluminium Fatbar in the middle of the handlebar to absorb shocks while riding over uneven surfaces.
-
Kawasaki KX 250 Verdict
The minimal bodywork, high-revving engine and absence of many must-have features make the Kawasaki KX250 a motorcycle strict for off-road usage, which only gets better with its durable long-travel suspension and off-road tyres.
