Kawasaki Ninja 1000

The Kawasaki Ninja 1000 strikes the perfect middle ground of being outright sporty and having attention to detail for those who keep comfort as their highest priority. The motorcycle is based on the Z1000 but has a majorly different design from the latter.

At the front, the Kawasaki Ninja 1000 has a very aerodynamic looking fairing, which is slapped with two angular LED headlamps. The rakish fairing comes with an equally angular and large transparent windscreen attached to it, which is fully adjustable and is super effective in preventing the wind blasts at high speeds. The large rearview mirrors mounted on the front fairing offer a good view of what all is happening behind your back.

The full fairing extends towards the sides with some hefty visual mass depicting how big and muscular this motorcycle looks. The front edges of the fairing on the sides do get vertically integrated clear lens turn indicators. The side portion of the fairing partially hides the engine finished in an all-black theme.

The fuel tank of the Kawasaki Ninja 1000 looks bulbous and sports prominent creases forming good knee recesses. The split seat theme on the motorcycle has large seats for both rider and pillion, which are roomy for both. The side body cowls present below the seats are slim and do make the motorcycle look athletic. 

The pillion grab rails at the back have a split design and are very large, keeping in mind the optimum comfort of the pillion rider. The dual exhaust pipes on either sides too make the motorcycle look beefy when viewed from the rear. 

The Kawasaki Ninja 1000 provides a big bike experience as soon as you sit on the saddle with split pillion grab rails and a large part digital instrument console having a round analog tachometer along with digital readouts for speedometer, odometer, trip meters, gear indicator, fuel gauge, temperature gauge, clock, and other real-time riding data. The top-notch switchgear and premium fit and finish levels add to the overall experience.

The Kawasaki Ninja 1000 is fitted with a conventional suspension setup of upside-down hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and five-step adjustable mono-shock at the rear, both of which are fully adjustable as per the preference of the rider. The factor of comfort is on a higher priority, and the Ninja 1000 offers a plush ride quality. The handling is pretty decent, however, the higher kerb weight of 235 kg and slightly upright seating posture will take some time to get used to.

The Kawasaki Ninja 1000 isn’t as rich as the Ninja ZX-10R when it comes to electronic safety aids. However, it still feels amply equipped with dual-channel ABS, assist and slipper clutch, three-level traction control, wheelie control, pitching control, and corner braking control.

The Kawasaki Ninja 1000 is one of the most practical liter-class sports bikes, as it offers a good blend of mighty performance on tap and big bike dimensions along with easy ergonomics and comfortable ride quality. With a decent list of features available and reliable mechanicals under its skin, the Ninja 1000 promises a trouble-free ownership experience to the riders.
