Kymco KRV 180i TCS Overview
The Kymco KRV 180i TCS is the smallest maxi-scooter from the Taiwan-based two-wheeler maker. Being a specialist in making maxi-scooters, Kymco has left no stone unturned for making the KRV 180i TCS a proper and desirable scooter. With a large size, edgy styling, and promising performance, the Kymco KRV 180i TCS is aimed at younger customers who want a maxi-scooter that is light on the pocket. The Kymco KRV 180i TCS is available in the Philippines with four colour options of blue, black, white, and pink.

Kymco KRV 180i TCS Design
When it comes to visual appeal, the Kymco KRV 180i TCS is one of the finest and edgiest looking entry-level maxi-scooters you can buy in the market right now. Visually, the Kymco KRV 180i TCS looks quite big and sharp and is larger than the other 150-180cc large scooters available out there.
The Kymco KRV 180i TCS has a very aggressive and sharp-looking front apron, which houses dual large LED headlamps that stretch upwards from the upper corners. These headlamps do get small and sleek passages below them, which look like a pointy chin for the scooter. The upper portion of the front apron above the headlamps is finished in matt black plastic, with a large and bulging visor positioned in the centre. This visor gets dual sleek-looking V-shaped air vents just below it. The front apron is flanked with sharp-looking side extension panels, which with their wide design further make the scooter look big when viewed head-on.
The Kymco KRV 180i TCS looks very attractive when viewed from the side. The floorboard of the scooter looks a bit small in its width, however, it is accommodating enough for taller riders. The back portion of the front apron houses a small cubby hole and multi-functional keyless ignition panel on the right side and the external fuel filler cap on the left side, with a luggage hook in the centre. At the bottom, the Kymco KRV 180i TCS gets retractable alloy pillion footpegs. The busy-looking side panels flow upwards towards the rear, which is pointed upwards.
The sloping up tail section of the Kymco KRV 180i TCS ends up in small and split-themed LED tail lamps, above which there are split pillion grab rails. The upswept stubby exhaust pipe with silver-finished tip looks quite cool and goes well with the edgy and sporty design of the scooter. The scooter further looks premium with a golden finish for the alloy wheels on which it rides. The large 25-litres under-seat storage compartment is impressive as well.
The Kymco KRV 180i TCS gets a very cool-looking full LCD two-step instrument console ahead of its steel handlebar. This unit packs in all the necessary data like speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, engine temperature, odometer, and trip meters. The secondary display mounted slightly above is shaped in the form of a trapezium and houses all the tell-tale warning lights. The single-piece handlebar of the scooter looks a bit out of place, and we wish the scooter had a better and broader-looking handlebar to match its overall beefy look.

Kymco KRV 180i TCS Ride & Handling
The Kymco KRV 180i TCS is a large and comfortable scooter, and despite its rather small 175.1cc engine, it feels at home on highways. This is all possible due to the soft setup for the suspension, which is a combination of telescopic hydraulic forks at the front and a single-sided coil spring with a unit swing-arm at the back. Matching the beefy look of the scooter are the broad set of tyres – 110/70-13 at the front and 130/70-13 at the rear. The Kymco KRV 180i TCS gets premium braking hardware, with a 274mm disc at the front and a 234mm disc at the rear.

Kymco KRV 180i TCS Engine & Fuel Consumption
Powering the Kymco KRV 180i TCS is a four-stroke, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 175.1cc engine, which is Euro-5 compliant and is coupled to a standard CVT gearbox. This engine is one of the most powerful engines in its price segment, with a maximum power output of 17.03 PS and a peak torque output of 15.68 Nm.
-
Kymco KRV 180i TCS Braking & Safety
The Kymco KRV 180i TCS might have a small capacity engine, but it feels like a proper big scooter. To make sure it feels safe on both long highways and in-city roads, the Kymco KRV 180i TCS is bestowed with safety features like dual-channel ABS and traction control.
-
Kymco KRV 180i TCS Verdict
The Kymco KRV 180i TCS might not have the finesse in its mechanical hardware as compared to its Japanese rivals. However, for its price, the scooter feels well-built with decent performance and supple ride quality, which makes it a potent option in the entry-level maxi-scooter space.
