Kymco Super Z 150

With its funky colour options and tall and sleek stance, the Kymco Super Z 150 comes across as a decent looker. It might not have the newness of several other 150cc scooters and motorcycles, but it is this sleek appearance of the Super Z 150, which gives it a decent appearance.

At the front, the Kymco Super Z 150 tries to look big with its wide front fascia, with the majority of the area of the front apron accommodated by a large V-shaped all-halogen headlamp. This headlamp cluster has a silver-coloured garnish over its chin, which flows towards the floorboard through the side panels of the front apron in a wraparound manner. The large vertically-aligned side panels of the front apron and front fender make the Kymco Super Z 150 look sleek when viewed from the front.

The Kymco Super Z 150 has a decent appearance when you view it from the side, with it having slim-looking body panels which flow towards the tail section in a rising manner. Due to the presence of body graphics, the Kymco Super Z 150 has a fresh look which makes it feel far from being dated. The floorboard may be compact, but the tall stance of this scooter ensures that it doesn’t feel cramped for taller riders.

At the back, the Kymco Super Z 150 has a decent-looking tail section comprising a wide tail lamp cluster, which has both a tail lamp and clear lens turn indicators integrated into it. Above this tail lamp cluster, there is a black-coloured pillion grab handle, which also serves as a top case carrier.

The Kymco Super Z 150 also comes with an all-analogue instrument console. While it is not as appealing to look at as the other digital instrument consoles in other modern two-wheelers, the silver partitioning between the dials makes it look nice. This console only gets essentials like a speedometer, odometer, and fuel gauge, which though have dated-looking fonts. The Kymco Super Z 150 also comes with an external fuel filler and a small cubbyhole neatly integrated behind the front apron, which further enhances its practicality.

The Kymco Super Z 150 is an athletic scooter to ride with its slim and tall profile and purposely-tuned chassis setup. The Super Z 150 comes equipped with telescopic hydraulic forks at the front and a unit swing with double-sided hydraulic coil springs at the rear. While the scooter comes with an 80/90-14 tyre and a disc brake at the front, the rear of the scooter has a 90/90-14 tyre and a drum brake.

The Kymco Super Z 150 comes standard with a four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 149.6cc engine, which also powers a couple of other offerings from Kymco. Paired with a CVT gearbox, this engine is capable of putting up 10.6 PS of maximum power and 10.8 Nm of peak torque output. For a vehicle that looks slim and has a kerb weight of 114 kg, the Kymco Super Z 150 is a decent performer, despite lower performance figures for a 150cc engine.

The Kymco Super Z 150 is a budget-oriented scooter, so it misses out on sophisticated safety features like dual-channel ABS. Instead, it gets a few handy safety features like a lockable under-seat storage compartment, a lockable ignition keyhole with a key shutter mechanism, and a parking brake for the rear brake lever.

In the sub-PHP 90,000 category, the Kymco Super Z 150 has been positioned as a tall and lean 150cc scooter with a humble appearance and equipment levels. It scores decently when it comes to performance and rideability, which makes it a practical two-wheeler to own.
