Kymco Xciting 400i ABS

Like a majority of the maxi scooters on sale in the market right now, the Kymco Xciting 400i does manage to catch your fancy with its aggressive design language and large dimensions, which do lend it a great on-road presence. There is no dearth of style in this scooter, and the ample amount of features it is packed with makes it look even more desirable.

The refreshing front end of the Kymco Xciting 400i comprises of a very wide looking front fascia, with a dual angular all-LED headlamp setup mounted at the bottom of the front apron. The headlamps do get a small air vent just below them which not only aid in aerodynamics but also add some sportiness to the nose of the scooter. 

These headlamps are separated from each other by a vertically laid design element, which runs all the way up to the large fully adjustable front windshield placed at the top. The front apron does get well laid out contours on it, making it look extremely stylish. The side extensions of the front apron on its upper edges make it look even wider and smart.

The lower extension of the front apron flowing down towards the floorboard does get clear lens turn indicators mounted on their upper edges. The floorboard with their scooped and separated theme do look premium and ergonomically very thoughtfully designed, with the dual-tone treatment accentuating its size. 

The Kymco Xciting 400i gets a stepped-up large seat, which provides ample room and cushioning for both the rider as well as pillion while on board. The side body panels, which blend in an aggressively looking manner with the floorboard, look nice and wide, which do have mounts for the split pillion grab rails towards their upper ends. The beefy looking single exhaust pipe on the side matches the gargantuan appeal of the scooter.

At the rear, the Xciting 400i looks very fancy with the cool looking LED tail lamp assembly with edgy looking clear lens blinkers. The scooter feels practical with a couple of cubbyholes integrated behind its front apron and does get an under seat storage space as well, however, the latter is not as big as one would have expected. The digital instrument console as well as clip-on handlebars only make the riding experience very sporty and futuristic.

The large and bulky looking Kymco Xciting 400i is a very easy to ride scooter with clip-on handlebars as well as a supple suspension setup, which is comprised of telescopic forks at the front and double coil springs at the rear. Riding on 15-inch front wheel and 14-inch rear wheel shod with meaty tires, the Xciting 400i feels very sure-footed with ample grip on offer while riding. Even the braking setup is fantastic, with dual 280mm petal discs at the front and a single 240mm disc at the rear.

Powering the Kymco Xciting 400i is a four-stroke, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, 400.1cc engine, which is mated to a V-belt CVT gearbox. The engine is punchy enough and produces a maximum power output of 36 PS and a maximum torque output of 37.7 Nm. 

The supreme braking setup of the Kymco Xciting 400i is complemented with the presence of a dual-channel ABS, with the scooter also getting a key shutter mechanism on offer.

With such a great design as well as class-leading mechanical setup, the Kymco Xciting 400i stays true to its name, by offering an overall exciting package that can give its established rivals a run for their money.
