MV Agusta F3 800 Overview
The MV Agusta F3 800 sits in a niche space of premium 750-1000cc range of supersport motorcycles, which currently has no direct competition in the Philippines two-wheeler market. Neatly positioned between 650-700cc middleweight super sports and litre class top-spec super sports, the MV Agusta F3 800 is based on the smaller F3 675 with a more powerful engine and slightly revised mechanical hardware. The MV Agusta F3 800 is currently on sale in the Philippines with two colour options - Ice Grey with Aviation Grey and Agostini Red with Agostini Silver.

MV Agusta F3 800 Design
The MV Agusta F3 800 might be one of the oldest motorcycles in a lot of premium middleweight motorcycles, but it still manages to look fresh with its timeless aerodynamic design. With its sharp lines and typical Italian flair in its design, the MV Agusta F3 800 still makes a lot of sense and stands head-on-head with other litre-class motorcycles.
The rakish front fairing of the MV Agusta F3 800 is characterized by sharp lines, which flow towards the diamond-shaped halogen headlamp at the lower tip of the fairing. The fairing also comes with rearview mirrors with LED turn indicators and a transparent visor, while at the lower tip it has edgy-looking fins which complement well with the overall aerodynamic look of the motorcycle.
The edgy looks and Italian flair of the MV Agusta F3 800 are in their full glory when you view the motorcycle from its side. The overall design of the F3 800 looks exactly the same as the smaller F3 675, save for a different 5-spoke theme for the black alloy wheels. Even the engine, which is partially covered by the side panels of the fairing, is finished in a theme of black. The fuel tank looks sleek with sharp knee recesses, which are good enough even for taller riders. The fairing also partially hides the red-coloured trellis frame, while the vertically-stacked triple exhaust pipes with bronze-coloured tips further make the side profile of the motorcycle look cooler.
Towards the rear, the MV Agusta F3 800 has a sleek-looking curved tail section, which accommodates split seats with a cowl for the pillion seat, air cowls at the rearmost tip of the tail section and an LED tail lamp in between. The motorcycle also comes with LED turn indicators mounted on the rear fender, which can be detached.
While the other aspects of the MV Agusta F3 800 make the motorcycle look cool and modern, the only thing which looks a bit old-school in the motorcycle is its offset-shaped fully-digital instrument console. The unit is not as modern and cool-looking unit as a TFT console, but it packs in a lot of information such as a speedometer, tachometer, odometer, trip meter, fuel gauge, temperature gauge, gear indicator, selected ride mode and traction control level.

MV Agusta F3 800 Ride & Handling
The MV Agusta F3 800 shares almost its entire mechanical hardware with the smaller F3 675. The motorcycle has a suspension unit comprising 43mm Marzocchi upside-down telescopic hydraulic forks with rebound-compression damping and spring preload external and separate adjustment at the front and progressive Sachs, a single shock absorber with rebound and compression damping and spring preload adjustment with single-sided aluminium swing-arm at the rear. The MV Agusta F3 800 has dual 320mm disc brakes at the front and a single 220mm disc brake at the rear.
-
MV Agusta F3 800 Engine & Fuel Consumption
The biggest differentiator between the MV Agusta F3 800 and its smaller sibling is the engine. The MV Agusta F3 800 sources its power from a four-stroke, liquid-cooled, inline-three, DOHC, 798cc engine, which is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and churns out a maximum power output of 148 bhp and a peak torque output of 88 Nm. The MV Agusta F3 800 is capable of hitting a top speed of 240 kmph.
-
MV Agusta F3 800 Braking & Safety
For its price, the MV Agusta F3 800 is equipped with a decent set of riding aids, such as dual-channel ABS with Race mode, riding modes, traction control, quick-shifter, assist and slipper clutch and rear-wheel lift-up mitigation.
-
MV Agusta F3 800 Verdict
The MV Agusta F3 800, despite its age, is still a desirable motorcycle with a beautiful and timeless design, which coupled with excellent performance and sharp riding dynamics, justifies its premium positioning as a niche middleweight supersport.
