NWOW ARS

The Nwow ARS has a design that can be best said as simple and easy to the eyes. It doesn’t break any norm in the world of two-wheeler design – it feels designed for a purpose, with a very basic design that feels cost-effective. In this process, it lacks the finesse which a modern two-wheeler should have, for it feels cheap with below-average fit and finish levels.

The Nwow ARS has a decent-looking front apron, which has been given a rakish and two-tone design. The apron ends up with a large U-shaped main headlamp, which has tapered upper edges housing the pilot lamps. Just above the headlamp is placed a small V-type air vent. The handlebar cowl looks wide and gets a nice looking V-shaped arrangement which gets clear lens turn indicators in them.

The Nwow ARS has a very conventional design when viewed from the sides. The side edges of the front apron flow smoothly towards the floorboard, which feels wide and good enough for even taller riders. The side panels of the electric scooter get a dual-tone U-layered finish towards the bottom and minimal graphics on the sides. Given that it is an electric scooter, there is a small body-coloured panel in place of the conventional exhaust pipe, which adds a youthful essence to the design. The Nwow ARS gets a machined-finish alloy wheel at the front and a black coloured steel wheel at the rear, which is quite a unique combination for a scooter.

Towards the rear, the Nwow ARS has got a wraparound-themed tail lamp with integrated clear lens turn indicators and a large black coloured alloy pillion grab rail over it. The seat of the Nwow ARS is quite long and is wide enough to accommodate two adults easily. Other regular bits of the Nwow ARS is a simply laid out instrument console with an analogue speedometer, battery level indicator, and other warning lamps. The scooter gets silver-finished brake levers which add a premium touch to the scooter.

While the Nwow ARS feels underwhelming when it comes to performance, it offers an easy riding experience. The scooter has a kerb weight of 150 kg, which makes it heavy by electric two-wheeler standards. However, the scooter feels easy to handle with large 16-inch wheels at both ends, which are wrapped with slim 2.6x16. The Nwow ARS measures 168 0mm long, 650 mm wide, and 1030 mm tall and gets simple hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and dual-sided coil springs at the rear, which offer acceptable levels of ride quality.

The Nwow ARS sources its power from a 0.45 kW electric motor, which is one of the least powerful motors present in the electric scooter space of the market. The motor is decent enough to propel the scooter to a top speed of just 50 kmph, which makes it suitable only for short and low-speed urban commutes. Another factor that firmly restricts its longer-range riding abilities is the limited maximum range of just 60 km, which is maxed out from the small 0.96 kWh battery pack. 

For an entry-level scooter of this size and price, the Nwow ARS feels basic and under-equipped in terms of safety features. It doesn’t have any of the noteworthy modern safety aids and even misses out on ABS or a combined braking system to keep the costs lower.

The Nwow ARS feels like a decent and honest attempt for a cost-effective electric scooter. It has a decent powertrain and riding experience which might not impress you a lot with its performance. However, it gets the job done for short city commutes.
