Skygo Archer

The Skygo Archer 100 neither is creating major benchmarks nor has brought something new to the table, when it comes to the aspect of design. It looks quite basic and simple, but for a segment that resorts to simplicity most of the time, the Skygo Archer 100 is a decently modern-looking offering, which looks good enough for the price.

The slim looking Skygo Archer 100 has a tall stance when viewed from the front, with a compact and wide front apron that has a rakish design. This front apron has two sleek-looking curved and clear lens units for turn indicators on its sides, which get accompanied by small air vents below them, which adds some character to the design. The headlamp cowl looks basic, and has a very simple looking arrowhead-shaped halogen headlamp. The high mounted front fender attached to the front apron looks basic as well.

There is nothing much to describe about the side profile of the Skygo Archer 100, as there are many evident signs of cost-cutting carried out, like minimal glossy finished rear side body panels. The side profile, otherwise is majorly covered up by basic black plastic cowls which act as extending portions of the partition in the middle. The side vertical long extensions of the apron flow all the way down ahead of the footsteps. The spoke wheels, as well as long single exhaust pipe, look tad too basic as well.

The rear side body panels rise smoothly towards the rear in a rising-up manner, thus ending up with a compact tail lamp assembly, which also accommodates clear lens blinkers. The Skygo Archer 100 has been fitted with a long tubular pillion grab rail, which flows all the way from the middle of the bottom of the single long seat. The twin-pod analog instrument console of the Skygo Archer 100 has an all-analog layout, one each for speedometer and odometer as well as a fuel gauge and other warning lamps.

This overall slim and basic chassis of the Skygo Archer 100 aids in making the moped very easy to ride, as its light kerb weight plays a major role in enhancing its agility while handling.

The overall powertrain of the Skygo Archer 100 is as basic as the moped looks in actual. The four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, carbureted, 107cc engine of the Skygo Archer 100 is coupled to a 4-speed manual gearbox and produces maximum power and torque outputs of 7.1 PS and 6.9 Nm respectively. Given the low kerb weight of just 97 kgs, the performance of the Skygo Archer 100 is quite decent for legal urban speeds, but not overwhelming enough.

Don’t expect premium safety features to be present in a basic and cheap entry-level moped like Skygo Archer 100. The moped misses out on prominent safety features that premium mopeds and scooters do come equipped with.

For the price it asks, the Skygo Archer 100 comes across as a decent deal, with minimal and basic styling, performance, and handling decent enough to take one from point A to point B in a fuss-free manner. It lacks the finesse and equipment of a modern moped or scooter, but then, it was designed with the intent of a basic and utilitarian two-wheeler at the very first place, engineered just for the task of commuting.
