Skygo Boss Overview
The Skygo Boss is one of the most affordable 150cc motorcycles you can buy currently in the Philippines. This entry-level basic commuter motorcycle from the Chinese two-wheeler maker focuses on the basic needs of commuting from one point to another in a city with its ease of riding and light-weighted chassis. The Skygo Boss is available in the Philippines in three shades of black, red, and blue.

Skygo Boss Design
The Skygo Boss is a motorcycle that is designed as a basic commuter with not much attention to detail. The overall design language of the Boss looks dated and extremely old-school, and the build quality and fit and finish levels too leave a lot to be desired.
At the front, the Skygo Boss has a very basic-looking face with a rounded headlamp, which gets large and rounded clear lens turn indicators on either side. The rubber gaiters on the front suspensions forks and chrome-finished front fender do add some visual appeal to the otherwise low-rent front profile.
Skygo tried to make the Boss look like a fusion of a low-slung cruiser and a roadster, but ended up making it look like a basic commuter. The high-mounted curved handlebar and the sloping down and curved fuel tank give it an impression of a traditional cruiser, however, the large multi-spoke alloy wheels and high ground clearance and seat height are some traits retained from a regular roadster.
The alloy wheels, single-sided exhaust pipe, and engine are finished in black, which certainly adds to the appeal of the motorcycle. The Skygo Boss gets trapezoidal side body panels which are pasted with large acronyms of the name of the motorcycle in the form of a unique-looking personalized logo. The best part to look at in the Skygo Boss has to be its long seat, which gets a stepped treatment making it look large and very comfortable.
Just like in a majority of retro roadsters, there are no functional rear side body panels, and the Skygo Boss gets a large tubular grab rail that extends over the tail lamp of the motorcycle. The Skygo Boss gets a large tail lamp integrated into a chrome-finished housing, and here too, there are chrome finished rounded turn indicators mounted on the chrome-finished rear fender. The rounded theme is well carried out in the chrome-bathed rearview mirrors and the single-pod instrument console, which houses just a speedometer, odometer, and fuel gauge.

Skygo Boss Ride & Handling
The Skygo Boss is a basic motorcycle even in terms of the mechanical underpinnings it gets. The entry-level commuter gets affordable components like hydraulic telescopic forks for the front and dual-sided hydraulic coil springs at the rear. For an entry-level motorcycle, the Skygo Boss gets a disc brake at the front, which is appreciative, while the rear wheel does with a drum brake.
-
Skygo Boss Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Skygo Boss might be a very basic motorcycle in terms of the way it looks. However, it gets a very promising engine for a motorcycle of its price. The heart of the Skygo Boss is a four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 150cc engine, which pumps out a maximum power output of 11 bhp and a peak torque output of 9.8 Nm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. While the Skygo Boss is capable of touching a top speed of 93 kmph, the claimed fuel efficiency is rated at 55 kmpl.
-
Skygo Boss Braking & Safety
The Skygo Boss has been designed with the intent to keep the costs as low as possible, which is the reason why it skips out on premium safety features. It does not get even a combined braking system, which has become a norm in affordable entry-level two-wheelers.
-
Skygo Boss Verdict
The Skygo Boss might look like a cheap attempt in the 150cc commuter motorcycle category with its below-average design and fit and finish levels. However, it manages to impress a bit with its perky engine, which is decently powerful and economic for the basic commuting needs of a budget-conscious person.
