The Suzuki GSX-R1000 derives its power from the four-stroke inline-four fuel-injected liquid-cooled 999cc engine. The 999cc engine of GSX-R1000 churns out a power output of 201 PS along with a peak torque of 118 Nm. Power is transmitted through a six-speed gearbox which is backed by a slip and assist clutch for swift gear changes. 

Braking duties of Suzuki GSX-R1000 are taken care of by twin disc brakes on the front and a single disc for the rear which is common with all the super-sports bikes. Other than the normal safety features, it has been equipped with ABS, traction control, and three different riding modes that ensure safer rides.
