With a strong resemblance to underbone bikes, the Suzuki Skydrive 125 has a very distinctive design that possesses the best of both the worlds of underbones and scooters, when it comes to both utility and visual appeal.

The Suzuki Skydrive 125 has a very broad but aerodynamic front design, where a majority of your attention is caught by the big and wide front apron. The rakish front apron houses the large W-shaped headlamp assembly, which also accommodates clear lens turn indicators on its upper corners.

The apron itself is shaped like a V, with the central portion of the apron at the top surface getting a piano black finish appliqué. The handlebar cowl gets a slew of cuts and creases towards its centre for its minimalist design. The beak-shaped front fender too adds to the aggressive front design of the scooter. 

Moving towards the sides, and the first thing catching your attention is the large wheels, which give the Suzuki Skydrive 125 a stance of an underbone bike. The alloy wheels finished in black too look sporty as well. The side extensions of the front apron extend towards the floorboard with a dual-tone finish. 

While moving towards the rear, Suzuki has tried to make the things look attractive and athletic, by giving a slim design to the rear side boy panels. These panels rise upwards towards the tail, at the end of which there is a small tail lamp assembly including the clear lens rounded turn indicators. The other functional bits like chrome shield for the exhaust pipe and single pillion grab rail complete the look of the scooter.

While the Suzuki Skydrive 125 looks fancy and projects itself as a youthful-looking scooter, the instrument console has a contrast boring layout of it. Incorporating analog dials for speedometer, fuel gauge, and odometer, the instrument console of the Suzuki Skydrive 125 looks pretty staid and basic. The brake levers on the handlebar are finished in silver colour, with the scooter getting good levels of fit and finish – something at which Suzuki has excelled pretty well.

With much bigger 14-inch wheels at both the ends, the Suzuki Skydrive 125 offers handling which is as good as other under-bone bikes and motorcycles. The hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and unit swing at the rear too have been tuned on a slightly stiffer side without compromising on the ride quality stance. This amazing combination gives the Suzuki Skydrive 125 a good fun to ride character. For the braking duties, Suzuki has employed a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear.

The four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected, 124.1cc engine of the Suzuki Skydrive 125 is one of the best and most awarded engines of the 125cc segment. Mated to a simple V-belt CVT gearbox, the engine makes a maximum power output of 9.4 PS and a peak torque output of 9.5 Nm.

Save for the key shutter mechanism for the ignition key hole, the Suzuki Skydrive 125 does not get any other major safety feature, which is a kind of letdown for the scooter.

Targeting the youth audience, the Suzuki Skydrive 125 offers a fancy and sleek design that manages to put up itself as an athletic-looking scooter. Matching this very personality of the visual appeal of the scooter is its fantastic mechanical underpinnings, with a good set of wheels, suspension, and engine combining to offer an excellent engineering sample. Suzukis are always known for acing in refinement and mechanical prowess, and the Skydrive 125 is no exception as well.
