TVS Neo XR

The TVS Neo XR carries a fancy and youthful stance for an entry-level under-bone bike, which is really appreciable. The major credits to this good visual appeal of the TVS Neo XR go to the sharp and slim looking body panels, which come with nice bold decals on them.

The TVS Neo XR has got a sharp and pointy stance when viewed from the front. The front apron looks small and agile, as it flows down in a curved manner. As in most of the under-bone bikes, the TVS Neo XR has got a Y-shaped front fender which is placed at a height and is fixed to the bottom of the front apron.

Coming to the side profile of the TVS Neo XR, the panels of the front apron go down towards the engine, which has been finished in a theme of black along with the five-spoke alloy wheels. The slimness of the TVS Neo XR further continues in the rest of the side panels placed over the frame of the bike. In an athletic manner, these side body panels rise upwards towards the tail lamp cluster.

TVS has tried to make the Neo XR look sporty by making the lower extensions of side body panels as well as engine cowl pointy in appearance. The TVS Neo XR has got a compact looking tail lamp cluster at the back, which when viewed from the rear looks wide as it comes integrated with clear lens turn indicators in them. 

To keep its simplistic approach in check, TVS has equipped the Neo XR with a sober-looking instrument console, which has an all analog dial for the speedometer, fuel gauge, odometer and trip meter. The fact which opposes the youthful styling of the TVS Neo XR is its lack of modern-day features, which do make the more premium Rockz much more desirable over it. Nevertheless, for a range starting the under-bone bike, the TVS Neo XR impresses with its top-notch quality levels evident from the smooth fit and finish of the panels.

The TVS Neo XR shows its basic and simple approach in the way it has been equipped on the basis of mechanical components which form its chassis. The TVS Neo XR features a solid suspension setup of hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and rectangular swing-arm with hydraulic coil springs at the rear. The Basic variant has been fitted with 110mm drum brakes at both the ends, while the Plus variant features a 220mm disc brake at the front in place of the drum brake.

The TVS Neo XR sources its power from a four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 109.6cc engine, which is the main workhorse in a range of other TVS products as well globally. Coupled to a basic 4-speed manual gearbox, this engine pumps out maximum power and torque outputs of 8.6 PS and 8.5 Nm respectively. 

When it comes to the aspect of safety, the TVS Neo XR feels terribly under-equipped, as apart from a basic disc brake at the front, which too is available only as an optional add-on, there is no other prominent safety feature on offer here. 

Given its entry-level positioning, the TVS Neo XR lacks a number of crucial modern features. However, this basic cub class bike manages to impress one with its edgy styling approach, which is not so common in its segment. Apart from that, the engine, as well as the rest of the chassis, does feel sturdy and built to last, making it a good and reliable product in a whole.
