Yamaha Mio Fazzio

Yamaha has offered a few neo-retro-styled scooters in the past, but the new Mio Fazzio has an appearance which is distinctive and has its own identity. The curvy-looking body panels and compact dimensions make the Mio Fazzio look eye-catching, but it is a design which might not be liked by all as a generalized opinion.

The Yamaha Mio Fazzio has a compact front apron, which has a curvy design and a bulging look in its central lower part. There is a vertically-running black stripe in the middle, which extends up to the upper boundary of the front apron. The handlebar cowl also gets a curvaceous look reminiscent of the scooters from the bygone era, while having a round-themed all-LED headlamp in the middle bulging part. Meanwhile, the front apron also houses capsule-shaped turn indicators on either side.

The Yamaha Mio Fazzio continues its cutesy and unique appearance in its side profile, with the scooter having sleek side body panels with a curvy design and a compact floorboard, which might not feel too accommodating for all the tall riders in general. Above the curvaceous side body panels, the Mio Fazzio has a long seat which has an uprising design for the pillion perch. The 12-inch black alloy wheels do give the Yamaha Mio Fazzio a nice stance.

At the back, the Yamaha Mio Fazzio has a minimal and compact look for the tail section, which houses capsule-shaped halogen turn indicators and a capsule-shaped LED tail lamp, all of which are placed vertically and parallel to each other. The tail lamp here sits over a blacked-out plastic panel in the middle, with the scooter getting a blacked-out alloy pillion grab rail.

The capsule inspiration in the overall design of the Yamaha Mio Fazzio is also there for the fully digital instrument console, with the screen packing in speedometer, odometer, trip meters and fuel gauge. Yamaha has equipped the Mio Fazzio with a few new-age essentials like Y-Connect Bluetooth connectivity for smartphone application, a compact storage bin, a compact bottle holder and tow hook in the back part of the apron, 17.8-litre under-seat storage compartment and a USB charging slot.

The Yamaha Mio Fazzio sits over an underbone frame and comes with a conventional suspension combination of telescopic forks at the front and a unit swing at the rear. For a scooter of this size, the Mio Fazzio has wide 110/70-12 tubeless tyres, which help the scooter remain sure-footed while also making it look good. The Mio Fazzio comes with a front disc brake and a rear drum brake as standard.

Yamaha has achieved excellence in the mechanical setup of the Mio Fazzio, with the scooter being powered by a single-cylinder, air-cooled, 125cc engine, which also powers a few other Yamaha offerings. This engine produces 8.4 PS of maximum power output and 10.6 Nm of maximum torque output, which accounting for the light kerb weight of 95 kgs, make the Mio Fazzio a fun to ride and zippy scooter in urban conditions.

While the Yamaha Mio Fazzio might not be equipped with an ABS, the scooter has a lockable large 17.8-litre under-seat storage compartment and a key shutter mechanism for the ignition keyhole, thus covering the basic grounds for a scooter of this price.

The chic and retro design of the Yamaha Mio Fazzio is its prime highlight, which is further backed by Yamaha’s excellence in powertrain and chassis setup, making it a great value for its asking price and a preferable option for younger people who are new to riding.
