Yamaha Mio Gear Design
The Yamaha Mio Gear impresses with its lean and athletic design, which looks even better with the bolder set of graphics that are on offer. This combination of graphics and premium colours makes the Mio Gear look special despite its affordable pricing and positioning as a mid-level scooter.
It is from the front, that the Yamaha Mio Gear carries a very distinctive appeal as compared to other scooters. The Mio Gear comes with a Y-shaped headlamp cluster, which is positioned in the middle of the front apron. This edgy-looking LED headlamp gives the Mio Gear a very aggressive-looking fascia. The handlebar cowl has a V-shaped design, which goes well with the edgy design of the overall front profile.
The Yamaha Mio Gear looks slim and sharp when viewed from the side. The front edges of the slim side body panels which flow down towards the floorboard come integrated with vertical LED turn indicators, which also come in-built with the functionality of hazard lamps. The floorboard has a unique knurled design for the pads on the sides, and while it is good enough for shorter riders, the taller riders might feel this floorboard is a bit cramped.
The side body panels of the Yamaha Mio Gear come with bold graphics and a unique blacked-out panel in the middle, which has a knurled finish for its surface and bears the name of the scooter. The well-padded and long single seat of the Mio Gear ends up with a large pillion grab rail at the back, with the tail lamp cluster positioned below it. This tail lamp cluster accommodates an LED tail lamp and clear lens turn indicators within it. The Mio Gear comes with large 5-spoke black alloy wheels with racy graphics on the circumference of the wheels.
The instrument console of the Yamaha Mio Gear looks fairly simple, with the all analogue unit housing a speedometer, fuel gauge, odometer and an array of warning lamps. The scooter comes with a premium and sporty-looking silver-finished levers and a cubbyhole with a dual USB charging socket. The scooter also has practical double hooks to carry luggage items and groceries.

Yamaha Mio Gear Ride & Handling
The peppy performance of the Yamaha Mio Gear is well-matched by its slim and light-weighted character, which makes it a fun and easy scooter to ride. The hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and single-sided coil spring at the back make up for a conventional suspension setup, but the combination is well-tuned for quick urban riding. The scooter rides on 80/80-14 front tyre and 100/70-14 rear tyre, which are big and wide enough to offer great levels of grip. For braking, the Mio Gear has a disc brake at the front and a simple drum unit at the rear.
-
Yamaha Mio Gear Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Yamaha Mio Gear is powered by a four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 2-valve, 125cc engine, which is one of the most refined and smooth 125cc engines for a scooter. The engine is capable of putting up 9.4 PS of maximum power and 9.6 Nm of maximum torque, thus making it one of the most powerful entry-level 125cc scooters available in the market right now. The engine is paired with an idle start-stop system and starter motor-generator for optimal fuel efficiency.

Yamaha Mio Gear Braking & Safety
For safety, the Yamaha Mio Gear, in its S variant, comes equipped with an answer back system, in which the scooter can be located in a crowd of two-wheelers by just pressing a button on the key, on which the sound alarm in the scooter starts buzzing and the indicators start flashing.
