It is from the front, that the Yamaha Mio Gear carries a very distinctive appeal as compared to other scooters. The Mio Gear comes with a Y-shaped headlamp cluster, which is positioned in the middle of the front apron. This edgy-looking LED headlamp gives the Mio Gear a very aggressive-looking fascia. The handlebar cowl has a V-shaped design, which goes well with the edgy design of the overall front profile.

The Yamaha Mio Gear is powered by a four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 2-valve, 125cc engine, which is one of the most refined and smooth 125cc engines for a scooter. The engine is capable of putting up 9.4 PS of maximum power and 9.6 Nm of maximum torque, thus making it one of the most powerful entry-level 125cc scooters available in the market right now. The engine is paired with an idle start-stop system and starter motor-generator for optimal fuel efficiency.

For safety, the Yamaha Mio Gear, in its S variant, comes equipped with an answer back system, in which the scooter can be located in a crowd of two-wheelers by just pressing a button on the key, on which the sound alarm in the scooter starts buzzing and the indicators start flashing.
