Yamaha Sight Latest Updates
For something launched just two years ago, the Yamaha Sight rise in popularity has been remarkable. This is thanks to the fact that the Sight has now established itself as the mileage king in the country twice over. Quite recently it was recorded to be 133.53 km/L which allowed it to break its own previous record. Yamaha has given the Sight a very advanced engine for its price that gives it this ability. It is a fuel-injected and air-cooled 115cc engine that uses forged pistons, spiny sleeve cylinder and roller rocker arms for improved efficiency. It also produces 8.8 PS and 9.5 Nm of torque which is sufficient for a bike that tips the scales at just 95 kg. This is then mated to a 4-speed transmission. Other features include body integrated indicators, a keyhole shutter, 9L of underseat storage and a disc brake in the front. The base model equipped with spoked wheels can then be bought for just Php 59900 while the alloy wheels equipped model can be yours for Php 62900.

Yamaha Sight Design
The Yamaha Sight is purely designed with the intention of the most basic form of transportation from point A to point B, which is why it doesn’t focus too much on the aspect of design. With a basic design, the Yamaha Sight looks functional which is given for a product of this price.
The front look of the Yamaha Sight is pretty functional, with a simple halogen headlamp, which comes with tapered upper edges and a curved upper portion for its design. The minimalist front apron looks decent two stripes of contrast colours flowing downwards towards the nose.
The nose comes with pointier arrow-shaped clear lens turn indicators flanking either sides, which are quite big for the size of the apron. The front fender too is positioned slightly higher, thus making it look taller.
The side profile of the Yamaha Sight has been tried to make a bit youthful, which is evident from the playful use of body graphics on the side extensions of front apron flowing vertically downwards as well as rear side body panels. The engine as well as exhaust pipe have been completely finished in black, and in the cast wheel version, the alloy wheels too are painted in black.
At the rear, the Yamaha Sight gets a crown-shaped tail lamp cluster that comes integrated with clear lens turn indicators within them. The Yamaha Sight is also bestowed with a small but very functional 9 liters of under-seat storage space, which is handy for storing small knick-knacks under the flat seat it gets.
The instrument console of the Yamaha Sight, despite having a clean and basic design, is pretty informative for its segment, with analog dials for speedometer, fuel gauge, and odometer as well as numeric gear indicators, with telltale lamps too within the same console. For its price, the build quality of the Yamaha Sight is pretty decent with acceptable levels of fit and finish.

Yamaha Sight Ride & Handling
The Yamaha Sight comes with basic looking mechanical setup of a backbone frame under it and a suspension combination of telescopic forks at the front and rectangular swing-arm at the rear. While the suspension specifications sound normal, they do a decent job in making the Yamaha Sight an easy bike to ride especially for new riders. The lightweight nature of the bike again plays a major role here, making the overall handling a playful task. The Sight is equipped with a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear.
-
Yamaha Sight Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Yamaha Sight gets a four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, two-valve, 114cc engine to power it. The engine is married to a 4-speed manual gearbox and produces a maximum power output of 8.7 PS and a peak torque output of 9.5 Nm.
The engine is regarded highly for its great balance of performance and fuel efficiency, which are aided in their betterment by the light-weighted character of the bike.

Yamaha Sight Braking & Safety
While one cannot expect many high levels of safety features on the Yamaha Sight, the affordable bike still comes with a decent kit like a key shutter mechanism for the ignition keyhole and a disc brake at the front.

Yamaha Sight Verdict
The Yamaha Sight might not be a desirable product at first glance owing to its boring design but move over its basicity, and the bike justifies its popularity for the brilliant powertrain and finely tuned chassis it is blessed with. For the price at which it comes, the Yamaha Sight offers itself as a practical option for daily commutes.
