Yamaha Vega Force i Overview
The Yamaha Vega Force i promises to offer a good blend of affordability with sporty looks and good performance for a budget cub class bike. With a unique design, the Yamaha Vega Force i placed between Sight and Sniper in the cub class bike lineup of Yamaha in the Philippines. The Yamaha Vega Force i is priced at PHP 68,200, and is available in two colour options – Black Raven and Race Blu.

Yamaha Vega Force i Design
Compared to the bare basic Yamaha Sight positioned below it, the Yamaha Vega Force i has quite a distinctive design language, especially at the front. This makes it look unique and sporty for a two-wheeler belonging to the budget cub class bike category.
The main highlight of the Yamaha Vega Force i is its headlamp design, which makes it the only cub class bike in its category to sport a dual headlamp setup. The dual headlamp setup have trapezoidal designs, which come with curved upper kinks at the right edge corners, making the front end look sporty and premium.
The front apron of the Yamaha Vega Force i too looks great with its curved design on either sides and a prominent bulge in the middle, which integrates a tongue-shaped air vent towards its nose at its bottom. This air cent gets long L-shaped clear lens turn indicators on both of its sides. The front fender, positioned slightly higher, looks sharp with its beaky design, rounding off the aggressive front end design.
The side look of the Yamaha Vega Force i too is very sporty, with the side panels of the front apron flowing downwards being quite wide and making it look a bit beefy. The sleek side body panels rising upwards flows nicely towards the rear, and come with decent looking body decals. The engine exposed is finished in grey, while the alloy wheels are painted in black.
The Yamaha Vega Force i get a tail lamp cluster shaped like a slim arrow pointing upwards and comes with clear lens turn indicators on its either edges. The single-piece long seat, as well as single piece alloy grab rail, look a bit simple as compared to the rest of the design.
The instrument console of the Yamaha Vega Force i looks decent with nothing much to write about its simplistic display. The large centrally placed speedometer is encased within a broad console, which gets small trapezoidal housings on each of its sides – telltale lamps in the left one and fuel gauge in the right one.

Yamaha Vega Force i Ride & Handling
It is not only the engine that has been shared with the Yamaha Sight on the Vega Force i. The bike also shares the backbone frame as well as the suspension combination with the Sight, which includes hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and rectangular swingarm at the rear. The Vega Force i rides on tall 17-inch tires on each end and gets a standard disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear.
-
Yamaha Vega Force i Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Yamaha Vega Force i shares its four-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, two-valve, 114cc engine with the smaller and more affordable Yamaha Sight. However, here, the engine has been tweaked to retrieve better output numbers – 10.1 PS of maximum power output and 9.9 Nm of peak torque output. The engine is coupled to a 4-speed constant mesh manual gearbox.

Yamaha Vega Force i Braking & Safety
With not much standardised premium safety features, the Yamaha Vega Force i comes with a safety measure for the ignition keyhole in the form of a secured key shutter mechanism, as well as the added convenience of a disc brake at the front.
-
Yamaha Vega Force i Verdict
The Yamaha Vega Force i has a good sporty design language, especially when viewed head-on, which makes it an eye-catching thing at its price point. The cub class bike has a potent engine that impresses with its refinement and a good balance of performance and fuel efficiency. However, given its considerable premium over the Yamaha Sight, it could have justified that price gap with more features on offer.
