FAW 380M10

To cater to the lower segment of commercial trucks, the FAW 380M10 carries a cost-cutting approach, with a very simple looking cabin which has a slightly bland design and lacks a number of modern features. Even the basics like music system and air conditioner have been skipped in the interior cabin feature list, which makes it look too plain-jane from the inside.

However, when it comes to the number of storage compartments, ergonomics, and space on offer, the FAW 380M10 scores quite good, with an ample amount of room for three people in the cabin and a very finely balanced driving position. The multi-information display behind the steering wheel has a simple read-out display but is quite informative while on the go.

Compared to other trucks from FAW, the FAW 380M10 looks slightly better and more modern. However, it still looks a couple of notches below the trucks from other automakers, who have to the game ahead by incorporating new features and latest design trends to make them much more appealing.

The FAW 380M10 has a very simple looking front end, which looks large and has a flat approach towards design. The large rectangular windscreen, which has got long black horizontal garnishes above and below it, features a three intermittent wiper set up and has got a sloping design with angular edges. The garnish above the windscreen gets a cover type layout, which tucks in the front windscreen from the top.

Talking about the design of the front apron, it has a simple layout, with a wide rectangular front grille in the center. This grille gets a huge FAW logo placed in the middle and a thin silver garnish at the top. The bottom corners of the front apron have got thinner looking bottom extensions towards the front bumper. 

The FAW 380M10 has got a large rectangular front bumper, which has a protruding design and features rectangular halogen headlamps on either sides. The front bumper extends marginally towards the sides in a curved manner. 

The side design of the cabin of the FAW 380M10 looks wide and big for a medium-sized truck, with the width of the cabin being further enhanced by the large windows and rearview mirrors mounted on the A-pillars of the truck. The windows have a sloping upwards waistline, while the bottom portion of the door panels features thick body cladding over the wheel arches. The side cladding also extends slightly over the steppers to climb up in the cabin. 

Featuring a WP12.380E32 series diesel-powered engine, which is turbocharged and sports an intercooler, the FAW 380M10 is one of the most powerful and refined feeling trucks in its segment. It is the same 11596cc diesel engine which powers the flagship 380D12 full-size truck, and here, it produces maximum power and torque outputs of 374 PS and 1600 Nm respectively.

Save for the presence of a lockable passenger compartment with manual central locking as a standard feature as well as fixed seat belts, the FAW 380M10 misses out on a number of other crucial safety features.

Compared to all the other trucks from FAW, the FAW 380M10 ranks itself as a better finished and more mature and contemporary looking truck. But in the bigger picture, it still lags behind other trucks from the competition when it comes to the factor of novelty. However, the mechanicals under the skin does make the FAW 380M10 a decently accomplished truck.
