Gazelle Gazon Next

While the exterior design of the Gazelle Gazon Next looks a radical departure from the conventional boxy-looking design approach, the interior layout of the truck looks old-school and traditional. The overall cabin of the truck feels wide but is let down by below-average plastic quality for the panels and a cheap-looking all-black layout.

The Gazelle Gazon Next has a four-spoke steering wheel, which has controls for audio and instrument console settings and has a decent-looking instrument console with a green backlit theme behind it. The broad-looking centre console of the Gazelle Gazon Next has tapered side edges and incorporates rounded AC dials on the upper corners and rounded housings for a few switches just below them.

The central part of the centre console has a 1-DIN audio system at the top, a rectangular cavity for storage below it, and the knobs for manual AC at the bottom. At the bottom of the centre console, there is a cup holder, while the co-passenger side of the dashboard has a large open glovebox at the top and a closed glovebox below it.

The Gazelle Gazon Next has a very unique-looking design, which is a huge departure from the conventional boxy-looking medium-duty commercial trucks on sale in the country. The overall persona and stance of the truck are what sets it apart from the competition.

At the front, the Gazelle Gazon Next has a tapered bonnet, which is positioned adjacent to the inclined windscreen – a combination that is unique to the medium-duty commercial truck segment. The tapered bonnet ends up at an almost vertical grille at the front, which has a rectangular grille with rounded lower edges. Finished in a basic all-black plastic theme, this grille looks large and wide with horizontal slats and a GAZ Motors logo right in the middle.

The lower corners of the front fascia of the Gazelle Gazon Next get trapezoidal headlamps with upper inner rounded edges. These headlamps housings come with basic-looking halogen bulbs for the main headlight and the clear lens turn indicators mounted on their top right corners. Above the headlamps, there are rounded and curved fenders, which add a lot of visual drama to the look of the Gazelle Gazon Next.

Coming to the side profile of the Gazelle Gazon Next, the truck is available in a single short wheelbase, single cab design with slim-looking door panels. These door panels have blacked-out door handles in the middle of the tapered window waistline and a sharp curve right in the middle of the door panel. There are two rearview mirrors on each side of the Gazelle Gazon Next – one mounted on the A-pillar and one mounted on the door panel for serving for rearward view. The wheel arch mouldings above the front wheels come with clear lens turn indicators mounted on them.

The Gazelle Gazon Next is underpinned by a conventional body-on-frame chassis with leaf springs at both ends, which makes the ride quality a bit harsh. However, what matters more is its load-carrying capacity, and the truck fares well in that aspect. The Gazelle Gazon Next has a maximum load-carrying capacity of 4970 kg, which makes it a very durable medium-duty truck.

The engine powering the Gazelle Gazon Next as standard is a 2.8-litre four-cylinder diesel engine sourced from Cummins. Paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard, the engine produces a maximum power output of 150 PS and a torque output of 490 Nm.

The Gazelle Gazon Next is equipped with the basics of safety equipment, like ABS, EBD, and Anti-slip regulation (ASR).
